RESPONSIBILITIES
As a Unit Manager, you will have overall responsibility for operations, finances, personnel, and work environment. In this role, you will lead and plan operations where employees guide clients to appropriate support, investigate, make decisions, and follow up on interventions based on the Social Services Act (SoL) and the Care of Young Persons (Special Provisions) Act (LVU). You will be responsible for streamlining work processes, leveraging employee resources, and developing collaboration both internally and externally.
As a Unit Manager, you will independently and together with your colleagues manage the unit with assignments from the Deputy Social Services Director, placing your unit's work in a broader context within the department and administration. You will be part of a management team working collaboratively with trust-based leadership.
QUALIFICATIONS
We are seeking candidates with a degree in social work or another relevant higher education that the employer deems equivalent. Experience in child and family authority work is required. You should have strong leadership skills and excellent organizational abilities. Management experience is advantageous, and completion of leadership training is a plus. The role requires a creative personality with the ability to work strategically and easily collaborate and build good relationships. Competence in internal and external collaboration and work with BBIC (Child Welfare Framework) is essential. Experience with the Signs of Safety approach is also meriting.
As a Unit Manager, it is important to understand what it means to work in a politically governed organization and work towards the goals set by political and administrative bodies.
Significant emphasis will be placed on personal suitability and your ability to collaborate. The position involves close cooperation with your immediate colleagues in child and youth services, as well as with other unit managers.
A Class B driver's license is required for the position.
