We are now seeking an engaged and development-oriented unit manager who wants to lead our operations at Kulturhuset Kåken and Gamlestaden Library. This is a permanent full-time position starting by mutual agreement.
Kulturhuset Kåken is located in the historic old Härlanda prison and houses extensive programming and a library that create a space of curiosity, participation, and community for people of all ages. Kulturhuset Kåken is an LGBTQI-certified facility, which permeates its approach, activities, and working methods. Gamlestaden Library is located at Gamlestads Torg and is a profile library focused on young adults and youth learning.
Job Responsibilities
- As unit manager, you are the line manager with responsibility for the unit's operations, economy, and employees. You are also responsible for work environment, skills provision, and salary management for your team.
- Together with your colleagues, you will create a relevant and engaging operation. You will contribute to our libraries and cultural centers reaching new target groups and attracting more visitors.
- You will work on building and strengthening relationships with established partners and new actors to create a rich and inclusive cultural life together.
- You will contribute to making libraries and cultural centers a natural meeting place for culture, democracy, and social issues where ideas can flourish and people can meet.
You will also contribute to our internal organizational development by:
- Leading change processes with colleagues, focusing on both user needs and organizational best interests.
- Developing and clarifying roles, responsibilities, and working methods to create a clear, efficient, and sustainable organization.
- Developing the workplace's internal culture.
Qualifications
• You have an academic degree in a relevant field, such as culture or library science, or other education deemed equivalent by the employer.
• You have previous management experience including operations, budget, and personnel responsibility.
• You have experience working in library and/or cultural activities.
• You have experience applying trust-based management and governance.
• You have excellent Swedish communication skills, both verbal and written.
• Experience working in a politically governed organization is meritorious.
• Experience with participant-driven/initiative-based operations is meritorious.
