We have high quality results and good patient safety. The region is currently building a new acute hospital that will represent a significant development of our operations. **Job Responsibilities**
The Surgical Operations department is growing, and we are now seeking a unit manager who wants to be part of our leadership team alongside two experienced colleagues.
As a unit manager, you will closely collaborate with other unit managers and the deputy operational manager, taking responsibility for leading and developing the operations. Together, you will work to enhance employee competence and create a safe and stimulating work environment.
You will share responsibility for approximately 65 employees – dedicated nursing assistants, surgical nurses, and anesthesia nurses. In shared leadership, you and your unit manager colleagues are responsible for staffing, the work environment, and finances. You plan, implement, follow up, and drive the development of the operations based on set goals.
As a unit manager, you will also cooperate closely with union representatives, working together to ensure a sustainable and progressive work environment.
**About the Workplace**
The Operations Clinic is responsible for the surgical care across Västmanland and the more extensive surgical procedures. In Västerås, both emergency and scheduled surgeries are carried out. The breadth and variety of emergency and planned surgeries make the Västerås surgical department unique and exciting as a workplace. We possess extensive expertise and provide opportunities for development.
Organizationally, the surgical department in Västerås is part of the Operations Clinic. Within the clinic, there is a surgical unit in Köping that conducts day surgery, an intensive care unit, post-op, a pain clinic, an anesthesia clinic, and a sterilization center. Approximately 12,000 patients undergo surgery in Västerås annually. Our shared goal is to ensure that all work is performed with high competence and safety.

**Qualifications**
We are looking for someone with specialized training in Health and Medical Care, such as a specialist nurse with a focus on anesthesia or surgical nursing. It is advantageous if you have experience in a leadership role, familiarity with systematic work environment practices, change management, and good IT skills. Our work is governed by documents that are often in Swedish, so you need to have proficient knowledge of the Swedish language, both in spoken and written form.

**Employment Conditions**
The position is full-time with an appointment of 4 years, and a permanent position in your base profession.
