IT Infrastructure Unit Manager

The IT Operations' mission is to meet the IT and telephony needs of the Kalmar municipal group. We do this for administrative departments, municipally-owned companies, and associations, which gives us an opportunity to support critical societal functions and provides us with incredible breadth. We are seeking a driven and structured Unit Manager for the Infrastructure Unit - could that be you? The Infrastructure Unit is one of three units within IT Operations. The unit has 21 employees who daily work with ongoing management and development of Kalmar municipal group's IT base infrastructure by providing a stable, accessible, secure, and cost-effective IT environment that is uniform and up-to-date. Collaboration with other IT units is key to ensuring user needs and acting as one IT department. The main workplace will be in our modern and newly renovated facilities in central Kalmar. WORK TASKS We are looking for someone who is a present leader, who supports and challenges employees to develop both their skills and work methods. You work proactively, lead and drive change, and prioritize sustainable solutions that provide value to the organization. As Unit Manager, you will be part of the management team where we work strategically with the organization's vision and goals, but also operationally by initiating and following up on projects, assignments, and activities. Your assignment also includes managing relationships with external hardware, software, and service providers. In your role, you are responsible for the municipality's maintenance and development of networks, data centers, servers, storage, backup, client management, and system operations. You will have a very close collaboration with the IT Architect/IT Security Manager and are responsible for the operational personnel working with IT security. QUALIFICATIONS You should have a post-secondary education in a relevant field. You have worked as a leader in IT infrastructure and need experience in data centers and virtualization, server operations and storage, networks, firewalls and IT security solutions, and cloud platforms. Experience with ITIL is meritorious. As a person, you are a natural leader with the ability to inspire and engage your employees. You are goal and results-driven and are equally comfortable working strategically or operationally when needed. Your flexibility allows you to quickly adapt in an environment where both technology and needs can change. You are brave and dare to prioritize correctly in a changing environment. We expect you to have excellent communication and collaboration skills. The position is placed in a security class. OTHER Kalmar Municipality will verify identity and work permits before hiring.
