The intensive care unit is located at Helsingborg Hospital, one of Region Skåne's four acute hospitals, where qualified emergency care is provided around the clock. We serve as a resource for the various departments at Helsingborg Hospital and collaborate with other intensive care units in Region Skåne. The intensive care unit (ICU) also includes a postoperative unit, an intermediate care unit (IMU), a hyperbaric chamber, and a pain management unit. The ICU is a general unit with eight beds for patients from northwestern Skåne. Patients are treated here after trauma, sepsis, cardiac arrest, and multiple organ failure, among other conditions. The IMU cares for surgical and medical patients who require additional monitoring. The postoperative unit is open 24/7 with 15 monitoring beds, two of which are primarily used for monitoring children. The ICU and postoperative unit provide qualified intensive and postoperative care. We have approximately 110 staff members, including intensive care nurses, general nurses, nursing assistants, anesthesiologists, managerial support, and medical secretaries. In our department, we work in shared leadership with different areas of responsibility in our operations. Our organization values innovation, but above all, we care for one another and ensure that everyone is seen and heard. Good teamwork permeates how we work.
