We are now opening another facility for 16–19-year-olds, focusing on building a sense of future. We are looking for someone to lead the work for the existing Future Houses in Rinkeby and Husby and to help develop a new establishment from the ground up in Tensta. The Future Houses unit is part of the area of work and studies as well as citizen services, which is part of the department for promoting preventive social interventions. The unit consists of approximately 20 employees and three group leaders who, along with you, will contribute to the unit's development. Please read more about the benefits offered by the City of Stockholm: Benefits for employees - The City of Stockholm Your role As the unit manager, your main tasks will be to lead, follow up, and develop the work within the new unit. Together with young people and employees, your mission is to develop a supportive and activity-oriented operation for young people aged 16–19 who live in the Järva municipal district. As the unit manager, you are responsible for the unit's operations, budget, and personnel. You work based on politically set goals and ensure that the operation maintains good quality, efficiency, and goal achievement. With your coaching leadership, you drive, organize, and create conditions for development work within the unit. You are responsible for ensuring that directly subordinate employees have the right conditions and sufficient competence for their assignments. Your responsibilities include conducting employee appraisals, salary discussions, and planning and executing workplace meetings (APT). You are part of the area's management team along with four other unit managers and report directly to the area manager. In addition to budget, personnel, work environment, and operational responsibility, the role also involves: - Developing the unit's work methods - Establishing systematic follow-up of operations - Developing collaboration with relevant actors, such as other units within the administration, other departments in the city, high schools, and the police - Representing the operation both internally and externally - Serving as on-call manager together with department managers as part of your role Your competence and experience We are looking for someone with: - Academic education as a social worker/behavioral scientist or other qualifications that the employer deems equivalent - Several years of experience in a leadership position - Experience in leading and cooperating based on politically made decisions - Experience in development work - Several years of experience working with young people - Good knowledge of the Swedish language and the ability to express yourself well in both speech and writing We consider it an advantage if you have: - Experience in a managerial role with personnel responsibility - Experience working in a suburban area - Experience collaborating with the labor market administration and/or the education administration - Leadership training - Knowledge of a norm-conscious approach The City of Stockholm has a managerial profile, and we will emphasize the following competencies in the recruitment process: - Goal- and results-oriented: Works towards goals and focuses on results.
