We are now looking for an engaged and strategic Unit Manager who wants to lead a competent team in a development-oriented assignment, focusing on collaboration, sustainability, and workplace satisfaction.
Your workplace
At the Public Health Unit, we consist of around fifteen professionals with roles such as Public Health Analyst, Public Health Strategist, Business Developer, and Development Leader, collaborating to broaden and deepen public health efforts. The mission of the Public Health Department is to drive and support initiatives that strengthen the conditions for good and equitable health across the region. This mission is carried out with a focus on the determinants of health. We engage in development within the field of public health in collaboration with municipalities, civil society organizations, regional entities, and other community stakeholders in the region.
Region Värmland's public health mission is currently in a development phase aimed at further enhancing the conditions for positive public health outcomes in Värmland. Your responsibilities
The Unit Manager position involves personnel and work environment responsibility for the unit's employees, planning the unit's work, operational planning and monitoring, budget and financial management, support for employees in executing assignments, strategic work, representation in various local, regional, and national contexts, and collaboration with other entities within and outside Region Värmland.
Your skills and competencies
We are looking for someone with relevant academic qualifications, preferably focused on public health, behavioral science, social sustainability, or another area deemed equivalent by the employer. You have a proven track record of effective leadership and experience in leading development processes in the public or non-profit sector.
In your leadership style, you are unpretentious and employ an inclusive and coaching approach. You have held managerial positions for at least two years and are experienced in leading based on trust and transparency. You uphold values such as awareness of norms, equality, and diversity. Furthermore, we see that you are clear, strategic, and possess strong empathy.
