**About the Position**
As a unit manager, you will play a central role in the leadership and development of the unit's and department's operations, focusing on achieving common goals. In your role, you will ensure that the unit's work is carried out through well-developed self-leadership among employees and through project managers responsible for the various projects within the unit. You will ensure that the workload is sustainable for employees and that they have the resources and support they need to succeed. You are responsible for ensuring the unit's competence needs through both recruitment and competence development. Furthermore, you will maintain a continuous and constructive dialogue with your employees regarding their performance and work methods, as well as conduct annual development and salary discussions.
The agency's operations are project-funded and primarily conducted in project form. As the head of the unit, you will be responsible for monitoring the content and results of projects. This includes making decisions regarding reviews and quality controls and approving written documentation before it is published or delivered. An important part of your work is to manage and develop relationships with clients.
The unit is part of an operational area where you report to the head of the operational area. Your responsibilities also include strategically directing the development of your unit and contributing to the development of the operational area as a whole. This will be done in consultation with the head of the operational area, other unit managers, as well as with employees within your unit.

**About the Unit**
Our operations are growing, and we are now looking for a unit manager for a new unit that is being created as the previous unit for Flight Systems is divided into two parts. The new unit's operations will focus on conceptual design, performance evaluation, and interaction technologies for military flight systems. More specifically, this includes:
- Platform analysis and concept design
- Flight mechanics and performance evaluation
- Control systems and vehicle autonomy
- Training concepts and training value
- Immersive technology and human-machine interaction.
**Do You Have the Competence Profile We Need?**
**Requirements**
We expect you, as an applicant, to have:
- A technical education at the master's level with a natural science/technical focus or military officer training through the armed forces.
- Several years of work experience in the defense sector, either public or private.
- Several years of experience as a personnel-leading manager.
- Good language skills in both Swedish and English and a strong ability to express yourself well both verbally and in writing in these languages in professional contexts.
You have a strong ability to lead, motivate, and create participation, engagement, and conditions for achieving the organization's goals as a manager. You communicate clearly and convey visions, goals, and feedback effectively. You have a broad perspective on issues and see the bigger picture while thinking strategically and considering the long-term significance of matters. You feel comfortable in the role of decision-maker, have the courage to act, and the ability to motivate your decisions. You create and maintain good collaborations both internally and externally. You engage with your employees in a trusting and constructive manner, with the ability to understand their situations and perspectives. You are also secure and stable in yourself, have self-awareness, and relate in a way that is adapted to the situation.

**Meritorious**
It is advantageous if you have:
- A doctoral or licentiate degree
- Work experience from operational or technical aviation activities
- Managerial experience from a government agency, preferably from a defense authority.
