About this role

Do you want a meaningful job with interesting and challenging tasks? We are expanding and are now looking for two unit managers for the finance department. As a manager in our organization, you will receive continuous professional development and have the opportunity to participate in the development of the Finance Department with a focus on the citizen. About the position One of the unit managers in the finance department is retiring, and in connection with this, her role for the unit "Operational Support," which consists of approximately 30 employees, will be replaced by two unit managers. You will work closely together within the unit but with a clear division of personnel responsibility for about half of the group each. In the role of unit manager in the finance department, you will report directly to the Chief Financial Officer and be part of a management team where you contribute to the municipality's development beyond your own area of responsibility. The position is located within the Municipal Executive Administration. You will collaborate closely with your managerial colleagues across the entire administration to maintain and develop common routines and working methods with the goal of delivering according to the department's and the entire administration's mission. As a unit manager with us, you will have personnel, financial, and operational responsibility. You will drive, develop, and follow up on the operations against set goals. The role includes leading, supporting, and developing the skills of your employees. You will work from a holistic perspective and make independent decisions within the operational area. You are expected to be responsible for continuous monitoring of the external environment in the field and collaborate with trade unions and other internal and external parties. Naturally, it also includes developing the operations towards continuous quality improvement with the citizens in focus. Examples of tasks: • Personnel, financial, and operational responsibility • Drive, develop, and follow up on operations against set goals • Lead, support, and develop employees • Monitor the external environment in the field • Collaborate with trade unions • Collaborate with internal and external parties About the workplace The positions will be located within the finance department, which provides support in financial and operational management as well as accounting. We have about 75 employees distributed across the four units: "Operational Support," "Overall Finance," "Accounting," "Financial Administration," and "Operational Finance." The Operational Finance unit mainly consists of economists and controllers who provide close support to all municipal operations. The unit can be likened to a matrix organization where employees work based on the needs of the operations while also responding to the needs of the finance department. The finance department is in the midst of a development process aimed at achieving a more efficient, secure, and qualitative financial management, as well as better conditions for follow-ups and analysis. We are part of the Municipal Executive Administration, whose mission is to monitor and develop the municipality and provide effective support to all committees and administrations. Qualifications As a unit manager with us, you lead and motivate employees in a way that creates engagement and participation. Requirements: • Academic degree of at least 180 credits in finance or another direction deemed relevant by the employer • Experience working in the finance field • Experience in driving change and development work with successful results • Leadership experience Meritorious: • Experience working in a politically governed organization • Documented managerial experience with personnel, financial, and operational responsibility Scope and start date Employment type: Permanent position Employment rate: 100% Start date: As soon as possible by agreement Number of positions: 2 The positions will be filled subject to the necessary decisions being made.
