About this role
In Region Gotland, you can develop and grow, both as an individual and together with others. When you work with us, you contribute to making Gotland an even better place for people at all stages of life. We make each other better.
Who are we?
The Department for Special Housing is responsible for 148 dementia care places, 187 special housing places, and 40 short-term care places.
These are spread across 11 residences located in 6 areas around Gotland. The different residences are managed by a total of 17 unit managers along with administrative support.
Syrengården has 19 places distributed over two floors in a house with a beautiful garden in Roma. Syrengården's task is to provide care and support to individuals with dementia based on decisions regarding interventions according to the Social Services Act (SoL) and the Health and Medical Services Act (HSL). The operations are characterized by efficiency and high quality. The team consists of assistant nurses, licensed staff, and care assistants who work together, which places high demands on a flexible operation.
We are looking for a unit manager who will continue to lead and drive the unit and its development forward.
Your responsibilities
As a unit manager, you will have overall responsibility for the unit's development, routines, and working methods, as well as contributing to the overall development of the region. You will have personnel responsibility for approximately 30 employees as well as responsibilities for economics and the work environment. You will report to the department head, who leads the elderly care management team, of which you are a part.
As a member of the elderly care management team, you are expected to actively contribute to the department's development and the implementation of established working methods.
Elderly care is facing significant recruitment and staffing challenges, which requires you and your management colleagues to think long-term, collaborate, and contribute to a renewed working method that meets future needs.
You will continuously work on issues related to quality assurance, follow-up of routines, and contact with users, relatives, and employees. The work requires both a holistic perspective and the ability to translate decisions into concrete results in everyday life.
You will collaborate closely with other unit managers within elderly care, particularly with colleagues in the middle Gotland team, to create a shared understanding, common working methods, and favorable conditions for the development of the operation.
Who are you?
We are looking for someone with a higher education degree in health and medical care, social work, or organization and leadership. It is an advantage if you have training in areas such as leadership, work environment and labor law, as well as dementia care and support.
Knowledge of the Health and Medical Services Act (HSL) and the Social Services Act (SoL) and proficiency in Swedish, both spoken and written, are required. Experience as a manager or leader, experience in municipal health care, or elderly care/dementia care is advantageous. It is also beneficial if you have experience working in a politically governed organization, conflict management, and change management.
As a person, you are a confident and clear leader who motivates and engages others to achieve common goals. You communicate clearly, foster participation, and serve as a coordinating reference point. You take responsibility, structure your work independently, and drive processes forward. You remain stable and attentive in pressured situations, distinguish between personal and professional matters, and relate to others in a constructive manner. You plan, organize, and prioritize effectively with a focus on results and timelines. In addition to formal requirements, we place great importance on personal qualities that are considered significant for the role.
Warm welcome to your application!
