About this role
What can we offer you?
As a Unit Manager, you will become part of the management team for the Employment Unit alongside other unit managers and the operations manager.
You will have personnel responsibility for approximately 15 individuals. You will lead the work within the Investigation and Mapping Unit together with another unit manager. Together, you are responsible for early identification of individuals' needs and conditions for work or studies, as well as providing empowering and equipping interventions in close collaboration with other departments in the municipality, the Swedish Social Insurance Agency, the Public Employment Service, and the private sector.
The unit plays a central role in the ongoing reorganization of the employment process, where we are creating a clearer, more cohesive chain from mapping to work, studies, and self-sufficiency. You will therefore have an essential role in leading change, developing new methods of working, and contributing to the implementation of future labor market policy in the municipality.
In your work, you will particularly contribute to:
The implementation of upcoming activity requirements, where the municipality actively enhances support for individuals to participate in meaningful and developmental interventions.
The automation of processing within economic assistance, where digital solutions will free up time for quality and individual focus.
Being involved in developing methods of work and follow-up methods that enhance both legal certainty and efficiency in the process.
As a Unit Manager, you will:
- Have personnel, financial, and operational responsibility for the unit's employees.
- Lead, develop, and follow up on the work with investigations, mapping, and interventions.
- Contribute to building a holistic approach to the municipality's employment process, in close collaboration with others.
What are we looking for in you?
You should have a higher education degree in a relevant field, such as social work, sociology, social welfare, behavioral science, human resources, or a comparable qualification that the employer deems equivalent.
You should have experience working with labor market issues, regulatory authority, or social work. Previous leadership experience and a good track record in change management are advantageous. You should have knowledge of the structures, regulations, and collaboration forms of the labor market. We would also like you to have a good understanding of digitalization and automation within municipal operations.
As a person, you possess a strong ability to initiate, drive, and follow up on development work. You have strategic and analytical thinking, with the ability to see connections between individual level, system level, and societal development. Furthermore, you have strong communication and relationship-building skills. As a leader, you have a solution-focused and stable leadership style – you lead with trust, engagement, and clarity even during change.
