We are seeking someone who wants to help shape the public environments of a municipality where stories, nature, and people meet.
In Sunne, decisions and people are close – and you'll have the opportunity to make a real difference.
As Head of Public Environment, you'll be a key person in community development.
You will lead the work of developing our parks, squares, walkways, playgrounds, green spaces, and recreational facilities – places that create comfort, safety, and identity for our residents and visitors. You will also be responsible for the municipality's recreational activities, including association support and collaboration with civil society.
You will lead with respect, development, and professionalism – Sunne municipality's core values that permeate both everyday life and vision.
Work Tasks - What Does the Role Involve?
You are responsible for:
- Strategically and operationally leading the Public Environment unit with a focus on sustainability, quality, and citizen benefit.
- Developing our public environments and recreational activities in line with the municipal strategy.
- Creating good working conditions for your employees and promoting a creative and inclusive work climate.
- Ensuring that operations stay within budget frames and comply with applicable laws and guidelines.
- Collaborating with other units, companies, associations, and residents to create attractive and functional environments and meeting places.
You will be part of the community development management team and report to the Community Development Manager.
Qualifications
We are seeking someone who:
- Has relevant academic education in areas such as service, technology, community development, or equivalent field.
- Has leadership experience with personnel, budget, and work environment responsibilities.
- Is strategic, communicative, and has a genuine interest in sustainable community development.
- Enjoys working in a politically governed organization and has a good understanding of municipal operations.
- Holds a B driver's license and has good IT skills.
