Do you want to contribute to better conditions for clinical trials in Sweden? Are you an experienced leader driven by building a culture of collaboration and finding ways forward together with others? Then this could be the opportunity for you!
Our Organization
SweTrial is a national partnership in Sweden aimed at improving the conditions for clinical trials. It is a collaboration between healthcare, patient associations, academia, and industry, designed to make Sweden more competitive in life sciences. The partnership's secretariat is located at the Swedish Medical Products Agency. The secretariat's mission primarily includes:
• Collaborating with and facilitating cooperation among relevant stakeholders nationally and internationally,
• Creating conditions for stakeholders at the national level to jointly set goals and prioritize actions, as well as monitoring the achievement of overarching goals,
• Monitoring the conditions for clinical trials by analyzing and reporting information, statistics, and trends, and
• Coordinating the announcement and distribution of funds to support improved conditions for clinical trials.
Attached to SweTrial is a council consisting of external members representing the various stakeholders' needs and responsible for the decided initiatives. The secretariat serves as administrative support to the council. In the fall of 2025, the establishment of the partnership began, which includes formulating an action plan for the coming years together with the council. The focus is on goals and prioritized areas to achieve improved conditions for clinical trials in Sweden.
Your Mission
As the head of the SweTrial secretariat, your role is to provide support and create conditions for the partnership, as well as to work towards mutually agreed goals. Together with and on behalf of the council, you promote collaboration, coordinate, and drive development forward. A significant part of the work involves external contacts with representatives from healthcare, various organizations, and industry representatives nationally and internationally. As the head, you are the spokesperson for the secretariat and are responsible for organization, personnel, and budget, which also includes the funds that are announced. You report directly to the Director General of the Swedish Medical Products Agency.

We are looking for someone with experience in leading large change projects and cross-functional collaborations with external stakeholders. You have several years of experience, including managerial experience, in the life sciences field; pharmaceuticals and/or medical technology. You have a good understanding of clinical trials, and it is an advantage if you have a comprehensive understanding of the issues by having moved between the different parts of the "ecosystem," i.e., between healthcare, industry, academia, and government. Experience in leading operations within the healthcare sector is particularly meritorious, as is having worked in governmental and international contexts.
You have a scientific or other relevant higher education, likely in medicine, pharmacy, or public health. The tasks require excellent knowledge of Swedish and English, both spoken and written.
Your Personal Qualities
You are interested in people and build good relationships with a diplomatic, attentive, and unpretentious approach. Your communication skills are strong, and you are accustomed to representing the employer in national and international contexts.
