We are now seeking an engaged unit manager for the Collaboration and Programs unit in the Library and Democracy department. WORK TASKS Your primary task will be to ensure that your employees can deliver the results required to achieve the organization's goals. You will lead, guide, coach, and enthuse your employees. To succeed, your work tasks will include: • Working as a first-line manager and being directly responsible for 7-10 employees in the Collaboration and Programs unit, which involves personnel management, work environment responsibility, and budget responsibility for the department's functions and operations, including conducting employee and salary discussions. • Responsibility for the operational management of your unit. • Operationally working shifts at the libraries' various information desks (city library and branches) and leading and participating in program activities. • Being part of the department's management team together with the library manager/department head and unit manager for the Knowledge Support and Media unit. • Participating in strategic operational development, financial management, and operational planning with the library manager/department head, always in close dialogue with your employees in the unit. QUALIFICATIONS We prefer candidates with: • Education and/or further training in areas that the employer deems relevant to the position. Meriting: • Previous experience working in a library. • Previous work in processes and/or projects that have provided excellent ability to initiate, involve, delegate, guide, and follow up work processes. • Experience and training in leadership and cultural development. • Experience working in a politically governed organization with experience in administration and development processes in an administrative context. We see this as a job for someone with leadership experience in libraries or similar roles, such as manager, team leader, or project manager. You will, together with the library's employees, staff the libraries on scheduled times each week. Evening and weekend shifts are part of your work. You need to be able to work at both detail and macro levels and quickly move between different perspectives. You trust your employees' ability to plan and complete their tasks based on the agreements you've established. You have a communicative and clear leadership style that creates good dialogue, cooperation, and willingness to take initiative. It comes naturally to you to maintain many qualified professional contacts. Of course, you also have the ability to express yourself well verbally and in writing.
