Sandviken, Hofors, and Ockelbo municipalities collaborate in a joint municipal building committee; Western Gästrikland Municipal Building Committee (VGS). Sandviken is the host municipality, meaning the committee and administration's headquarters. The administration is tasked with handling authority matters within land surveying, planning, construction, environmental, and health areas.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES
Do you want to help shape the future of society using geodata and digital innovation?
Our current unit manager has chosen to take the next step in their career and return to Dalsland for new exciting opportunities. We are therefore seeking the next strategic and innovative leader who wants to continue developing our mapping and land surveying unit and take it to the next level. Here, you'll have a meaningful assignment where you can work at the forefront of new technology and digital development. You'll become part of a culture and work environment where holistic thinking, collaboration, and dialogue are central.
You'll have a key role in driving digital transformation, efficient data usage, and smart urban planning. This is at a time when geodata is crucial for growth, democracy, security, climate action, urban planning, and citizen-oriented services.
Creating value through collaboration is central to the role, as is building a competent, courageous, and future-oriented organization. As the unit manager, you'll lead engaged employees distributed across four teams in mapping, measurement, drone, GIS, and land surveying areas. You have overall responsibility for the operation and drive development forward with a focus on quality, innovation, and collaboration. You'll work closely with both internal and external actors and be a key force in implementing digitalization, automation, and AI in our processes.

QUALIFICATIONS
Who are you?
You are an experienced manager and leader with a coaching and secure approach. You inspire development and innovation and have good knowledge of new technology and user behaviors. The role requires a good understanding of the operational area and a strategic perspective in both decisions and direction. You have good communication skills in Swedish, both verbally and in writing. We seek someone with relevant higher education in areas such as geomatics, land surveying, urban planning, geography, systems science, or other education deemed relevant by the employer. Experience working in a politically governed organization is considered meritorious.
The position is security classified and will be handled according to the organization's processes and applicable legislation.
