About the Position The National Board of Health and Welfare is establishing an International Coordination Unit to strategically strengthen international activities and increase support for international issues across departments. The unit is located in the Director-General's Staff Department, and you will report to the Head of Staff. As Unit Manager, you will lead and develop the work of your unit, with responsibility for personnel, economics, and business development. Initially, the work involves building structures, strategies, and working methods for the unit, as well as more closely identifying and defining the unit's mission and future tasks. About You and Your Leadership To succeed in this assignment, you need the ability to strategically lead in complex contexts. You are communicative, strategic, and can build trust in collaboration with many different actors. To thrive at the National Board of Health and Welfare, it is important that you are confident in your leadership. You are excellent at collaborating and creating relationships and networks. The role requires you to be responsible, structured, and persistent in your work. Through your communicative ability, you inspire dialogue and participation. We will place great emphasis on your personal qualities during recruitment. We are Seeking Someone Who Has: • An academic degree deemed relevant by the National Board of Health and Welfare, • Several years of current management experience with operational, budget, and personnel responsibility, • Extensive experience in international collaboration within the Board's area of operations, • Very good knowledge of state governance and administration, • Significant experience collaborating with municipalities, regions, agencies, and other national and international actors, • Experience in successfully driving change and development work, • Good ability to express yourself verbally and in writing in Swedish and English. Good to Know This is a permanent full-time position starting with a six-month probationary period. You will be based at the office on Västerbroplan in Stockholm, but have flexible working hours to be arranged in consultation with your manager. In spring 2027, the agency will move to newly renovated premises in Solna Strand. Your job title will be Unit Manager, and you will be placed in the Director-General's Staff Department.
