About this role
We are looking for a manager to lead and develop the newly established unit for support and development, which is part of the staff within FMV's procurement organization (market and procurement). The position combines strategic responsibility, operational management, and business development in a dynamic environment where you can apply your expertise where it truly makes a difference. With us, you contribute to a stronger defense - at a time when our mission is more important than ever.
About the position
As a manager with us, you will lead the newly established unit for support and development. Here, you will have the opportunity to develop the unit, its working methods, and create long-term solutions. The unit's mission includes providing administrative support to the market and procurement (M&I) operational area, both to managers, including FMV’s business director, and to employees. Additionally, the unit is responsible for the management and development of the commercial tools used within M&I, as well as coordinating and supporting various business development assignments. Furthermore, it is also part of the unit's responsibility to coordinate and distribute incoming tasks to M&I.
By engaging employees, you create involvement and set the conditions for good performance and continuous development. The position includes managing operations, following up on tasks, and personnel administration, with a balanced distribution between leadership, management, and staff work. You also collaborate with different functions within the authority to create and further develop efficient, purposeful processes that make a real difference for the entire organization.
As a manager, you represent FMV's vision, goals, and values. You have operational, employer, and financial responsibilities and are your employees' primary communication channel. It is your duty to develop and exercise good leadership according to FMV's leadership principles; lead by example, trust, openness, and results.
The position is located in Stockholm.
About you
We are looking for someone with a relevant academic degree or equivalent competence acquired in another way that we assess to be equivalent. You have relevant and current experience in both a supervisory role and complex operations regarding coordination, planning, execution, or staff work. The position requires good knowledge of Swedish and English, both spoken and written.
It is an advantage if you have current and relevant experience as a manager or have completed leadership training. It is also meritorious if you have current and relevant experience working in a staff function, in a larger organization undergoing change, within a government authority, or in the defense sector.
Personal qualities are of great importance to us, and we welcome applicants with diverse backgrounds and experiences. As a manager with us, you lead the operations with clear direction and determination. You ensure that both short-term and long-term goals are achieved through structured work, accountability, and anchoring among employees. You build trustworthy relationships and promote an inclusive, respectful work environment where engagement, community, and diversity are central. With stability, courage, and integrity, you take responsibility for decisions and actions, lead with a focus on values, and act confidently even in challenging situations. Through a strategic overall view, you prioritize and coordinate resources, drive improvements, and strengthen the authority's long-term development and trust.
