About this role

About the Role

The position is located within the Integration and Labor Market Administration, which is one of eight administrations in Linköping Municipality. We enhance opportunities for residents of Linköping who are dependent on economic assistance to become self-sufficient and independent. We also contribute to skills supply for Linköping Municipality and the local business sector.

Do you want to improve the everyday lives, future, and quality of life for the people of Linköping? With us, you can combine important assignments with a meaningful everyday experience. Welcome to join us!

Your Responsibilities

In the role of unit manager, you will lead and develop the operations within the three areas of responsibility: operations, employee engagement, and finance. You will participate in the budget process and work with the goals set out in the operational plan.

We are looking for someone who wants to work in a dynamic and change-oriented environment, where we focus on individual development. You will be part of the management group, alongside your seven managerial colleagues, and will report directly to the department head for Labor and Income Support. You will have the support of administrators as well as resources within HR and finance.

We offer you an exciting job where you, together with your colleagues in the management group and your team, will have the opportunity to influence and develop the operations. We want our organizational culture to be characterized by a focus on individual development and continuous improvement. In this work, we see collaboration with other operations and authorities, such as Region Östergötland, the Social Insurance Agency, and adult education, as an essential part.

Your Workplace

The Integration and Labor Market Administration operates within the scope of the Labor Market Committee and is responsible for economic assistance and various skills-enhancing measures.

We are now seeking a unit manager for the Complementary Services unit. Here, occupational therapists, physiotherapists, psychologists, social workers, education and career counselors, and language developers work together. Employees contribute through their professions to the individual’s development towards work or studies, for example, through collaboration with healthcare, addressing health and daily challenges, assessing work and activity capabilities, career guidance, and the development of the Swedish language.

In addition to supporting individual clients, the employees within Complementary Services also provide guidance and support to colleagues, fostering learning throughout the Labor and Income Support department. The unit is located at Nygatan 19 in central Linköping.

As a manager in Linköping Municipality, you will have trust-based working hours.

The Ideal Candidate

We are looking for someone with a university degree in a field that the employer deems relevant, such as social work, occupational therapy, or behavioral sciences. You should have previous experience as a manager or other leadership positions that the employer considers equivalent. Experience working with support functions within labor market measures, such as language enhancement initiatives, educational pathways, and everyday and health challenges is advantageous.

You must be able to express yourself well in both spoken and written Swedish, as the work involves communication with authorities and documentation.

As we are an evolving organization, you adapt easily to changing situations and conditions. You have the ability to see the big picture and take the entire organization’s best interests into account in your decisions and actions. You excel at coordinating groups, motivating others, and fostering participation towards common goals. You are receptive, communicative, and work well with others, resolving conflicts constructively. You take responsibility for your tasks and plan your work efficiently. In stressful situations, you maintain your composure.

If you believe in individuals’ capacity to find motivation for self-sufficiency and want to contribute to this, this is the right job for you.
