About this role

Are you looking for a management position that is both developmental and stimulating? Then you are the right person to work with us as a co-manager at the Heart Unit. One of the unit's two unit managers has chosen to leave to try other work, and we now need a replacement responsible for the heart unit's clinics. You will become part of a wonderful team that encourages and supports each other. You will be part of the management group within the area of cardiovascular diseases, neurology, rehabilitation, and rheumatology (HNR). The area has approximately 280 employees. The operations include both acute and planned care. The HNR area has close collaboration with the dermatology, medicine (HM), and infection areas. At the heart unit, you will be part of a stimulating community and become an important part of the unit. We work in teams across the entire unit and encourage skills and operational development. The inpatient ward has 20 care beds, of which 6 are for cardiac intensive care. In addition to inpatient care, the unit includes PCI activities, pacemaker services, and a heart clinic. You will be the manager of the PCI lab, pacemaker services, day care, and the heart clinic with its four nurse-led specialized clinics. The heart unit's ward and clinic are staffed by nurses, nursing assistants, and medical secretaries. Other team members such as doctors, physiotherapists, counselors, and occupational therapists are employed under a different unit and work in our clinics and ward. WORK TASKS You will be one of two unit managers at the heart unit, working in a co-leadership where you will have good support from an administrative assistant. Your primary area of responsibility will be the unit's clinics. As a unit manager, you are directly subordinate to the operations manager and part of the area's management group. The job includes budget, work environment, development, and personnel responsibilities. As a manager, you are also expected to work closely with other unit managers and staff personnel, as well as MLU (physicians with medical management assignments). Collaboration with other actors, such as county municipalities, primary care, and other hospital units, is also important. You are offered a permanent position with a four-year appointment as unit manager. QUALIFICATIONS At least a three-year college education in healthcare or equivalent education deemed comparable. We are seeking a positive and proactive manager who creates engagement for the unit's tasks, development, and results. You have the ability to utilize employees' knowledge, experience, and creativity to drive improvement and quality work. You also need to be results-focused and willing to stand behind uncomfortable decisions when necessary. You have good communication skills, and your leadership is characterized by creating trust and good cooperation. Great importance is placed on personal qualities. Experience in management/leadership is meritorious. OTHER In the Region of Jämtland Härjedalen, our work is permeated by our core values: we create value for those we are here for, act with initiative, and strive to always be perceived as reliable. Here, you have the opportunity to work in an organization where these values characterize everyday life and where your work truly makes a difference. As an employee, you get access to a wide range of benefits through our benefits portal. We care about your health and offer wellness allowances or wellness hours. At Östersund Hospital, you can also train for free at the Zefyren gym and participate in instructor-led classes.
