About this role

In the spring of 2026, we will open the doors to a brand new residence for children and young people, LSS 9:8, located at Kartografvägen 5 in Västerås! Requirements for employment include extensive experience working with children and young people within the LSS target group, a minimum of 2-3 years of leadership/management experience, and the appropriate education (at least 3.5 years of higher education in the relevant field). This is a requirement to hold the license issued by IVO (the Swedish Health and Social Care Inspectorate). As a unit manager, you will be the license holder/responsible manager for the unit and will have full responsibility for personnel, work environment, and budget. Your responsibilities include coaching staff and providing support in their daily work. You will contribute to the development of the operations while keeping the needs of the children and young people at the forefront. The unit manager is part of the management team and reports to the CEO and quality manager. About you: To succeed in this role, we see that you are a confident, calm, and self-driven leader. You should have several years of experience in a leadership role and have worked with children and young people within LSS. You should enjoy working closely with operations and collaborating on various levels. The focus is on the children and young people living with us, as well as on our staff who support and engage with the children in their daily lives. Application requirements: - A higher education degree in a relevant field, e.g., social work or another qualification that we assess as equivalent and that qualifies you to hold the license (IVO) for the relevant operations. - Documented experience of personnel, budget, and work environment responsibility within care and support. - Documented experience working with the target group, LSS. - Documented experience in a leadership/management role. - Proficient in Swedish, both spoken and written. - A valid driver's license, as travel for work is required. We consider it an advantage if you also have: - Experience in a supervisory role within LSS 9:8. - Previously held the license for an LSS 9:8 operation. - Training in and experience working with low-arousal approaches and clear pedagogical methods. - Documented experience of leading change effectively. - Experience in starting up new residences. We place great importance on personal suitability. We conduct background checks and apply a probationary period. A fundamental requirement for employment is that IVO approves our application for you to hold the license for the operation. Before employment, you will need to provide an extract from the criminal record register.
