Are you driven by helping others grow? Then you might be interested in our position as Unit Manager for the On-Call Firefighting Unit (RiB). As RiB Unit Manager, you play a key role in creating a good work environment for our on-call firefighters and contributing to a successful operation alongside the management team. You will closely collaborate with colleagues within the association. Regardless of where you work within the association, your approach should be unpretentious and supportive. Job Responsibilities In your role as unit manager, you are responsible for leading and developing the activities within your unit. Our association has seven on-call stations and one auxiliary station. Each station has a station chief responsible for operations and personnel. Station chiefs report directly to the unit manager. The unit includes approximately 175 part-time firefighters who have another primary occupation but are on regular standby with us. You lead and coach employees to achieve set goals, with station chiefs supporting you at each on-call station. Additional aspects of the role include promoting job satisfaction and a good work environment within the unit. You are part of the association's operational management, and together with other managers, you will develop Gästrike Räddningstjänst to meet society's and rescue services' future challenges. The unit works with other units to comply with the requirements of the Accident Prevention Act. As unit manager, you have personnel, budget, and operational responsibility, which includes: • Implementing the association's goals and visions within your unit • Executing the unit's mission within given frameworks and conditions • Continuously adapting the operation to changing circumstances • Personnel management for station chiefs • Responsibility for self-monitoring and follow-up of unit activities • Representing the association in unit-related matters with internal and external parties Your working hours will primarily be during the day, but the role will involve meetings in the evenings and weekends to create good conditions for dialogue and collaboration with shift workers. Who Are You? We are seeking someone with experience in municipal rescue services. As a person, you are self-assured and have good self-awareness, with the ability to view situations from multiple perspectives and act situationally. You collaborate easily and bring enthusiasm, energy, and motivation to your work. You are driven by goal-oriented work and achieving results, with the ability to see improvement opportunities for your operation, yourself, your employees, and municipal residents. You are a problem solver who views the operation from a holistic perspective. Qualifications You have: • Extensive knowledge of rescue service's common tasks and the laws, regulations, and agreements governing municipal rescue services • Good computer skills • Strong ability to express yourself clearly and professionally, verbally and in writing • B driver's license Experience as a manager in rescue services with personnel, budget, and operational responsibility is highly meritorious. Additional experience in operational planning, personnel planning, work environment management, and leadership further education is also advantageous. Additional Information Your employment includes wartime placement in rescue services with general service obligation, meaning you are required to serve during heightened alert or war. Some positions involve placement in security class. Swedish citizenship is typically required. Placement in security class will require a security review with registry control before employment, according to Chapter 3 of the Security Protection Act.
