Unit for Animal and Food, Ministry of Rural Affairs and Infrastructure
The Ministry of Rural Affairs and Infrastructure is responsible for issues related to rural areas, food and agricultural industries, regional development, transportation and infrastructure, as well as housing and community planning. The Unit for Animal and Food works on matters within the food sector, animal welfare, and animal health. The unit is also responsible for civil defense concerning food and drinking water, as well as budget coordination of issues within its domain, operating both nationally and internationally.

As the unit manager, you will be responsible for leading employees towards established goals and organizing and planning operations effectively. You will have operational, budgetary, and personnel responsibility for the unit, which consists of approximately 25 employees, and you will hold the principal responsibility for the unit's area of expertise. Your background
We are looking for someone with a higher education degree that is relevant to the assignment. You have experience working as a manager with budget, operations, and personnel responsibility, and you also have experience working in a complex and politically governed organization. Furthermore, you possess excellent knowledge of Swedish, both spoken and written, as well as good knowledge of English. You also need to have a solid understanding of the conditions in a politically governed organization. Experience working in a government agency and knowledge of the unit's subject matters, operational areas, agency governance, EU negotiations, and preparedness issues are considered advantageous.

As a manager in the Government Offices, you are expected to have a holistic view and communicate overarching goals, involve others early, and promote collaboration for unified leadership. You drive the development of operations and work environment, lead change with courage, and encourage learning and initiatives for development, while also developing your own competence and leadership. You focus on results by prioritizing, making decisions, and showing trust in employees' competencies by supporting and coaching them, as well as addressing problems in a timely manner. You also need to have high integrity, personal maturity, good judgment, excellent collaboration skills, and be meticulous and quality-conscious.

You will be employed indefinitely as a department advisor in the Government Offices with a managerial appointment for five years, with the possibility of extension. The position is classified for security clearance, and a security assessment with a background check will be conducted before a hiring decision is made. You must be a Swedish citizen, but having a foreign background is welcome.
