About this role

In northern Dalarna, approximately 35,000 residents live alongside over 1,000 businesses, as well as a large number of vacation homes and tourists, both in summer and winter. These entities require access to drinking water and sustainable waste management solutions. Nodava AB (Northern Dalarna Water & Waste), a municipal competence company, has the mission to manage and develop properties in the form of facilities and equipment for water supply, sewage management, and waste management in the municipalities of Mora, Orsa, and Älvdalen. Starting January 1, 2026, Nodava's operational competencies will be organized into three units: Water Treatment, Water Networks, and Waste/Recycling, with the aim of creating better conditions for a sustainable competence structure capable of meeting future challenges. The Waste/Recycling unit is responsible for the collection and management of municipal waste from the owner municipalities, as well as waste under municipal responsibility. The unit will ensure an efficient and sustainable flow of waste fractions from source to recycling or final treatment, while actively promoting increased sorting and reduced waste. Your Responsibilities • Lead, develop, and monitor the operational activities for waste/recycling with a focus on the needs of owners and customers, in accordance with applicable legislation and governing documents. • Actively participate in the development of Nodava as a company and as a member of the management team. • Co-create the development of employee engagement towards achieving goals and promote sustainable competence supply, work environment, and resource planning within the unit. • Hold budget and financial accountability for defined operations. Responsible for the implementation and follow-up of completed work compared to the operational budget, timelines, and quality. • Identify, procure, and promote sustainable external collaborations that ensure a long-term effective, flexible, and customer-oriented operation. • Represent Nodava in contact with contractors and in various networks, as well as in interactions with businesses, authorities, and organizations within the scope of the managerial responsibilities. Your Profile Nodava conducts essential community operations, and the waste management sector faces exciting challenges. This requires a holistic view and a strong ability to collaborate and cooperate with others to achieve common goals. Through your leadership, you will create favorable conditions for engagement and participation, and your leadership style will be a crucial part of shaping the success of the operations in meeting upcoming challenges. You have experience in leading others and preferably experience in change management. You are stable, possess good self-awareness, and have a communicative approach combined with high integrity that distinguishes between the personal and professional. The operations impose high demands on quality, continuous improvement, and compliance with applicable legal requirements. Therefore, it is advantageous if you have a good understanding of laws and regulations in the waste sector, experience from work in waste and recycling, as well as knowledge in finance. Experience with project procurement for contracts is a merit. We are looking for someone with a higher education in the relevant field or equivalent knowledge acquired in other ways. Knowledge of security for essential community operations and crisis management is a merit. Good IT skills and an interest in the opportunities of digitalization are important prerequisites for meeting the digital development needs in Nodava's operations. The position involves participation in security-sensitive operations. A passed security clearance without placement in a security class is a requirement before employment. Your workplace will be located in Nodava's facilities in Orsa, but you will also cover the entire northern Dalarna region. Since your role involves travel, a valid driver's license (category B) is required. The position is full-time. It is a permanent employment with immediate start as agreed.
