About this role
Do you want to help build and develop our future society?
At Catena, we develop, own, and manage modern logistics properties with a focus on long-term customer relationships. We are now looking for an Energy Specialist who wants to contribute to smart energy solutions and create strategies aligned with our value: taking responsibility over time.
About the Position
As an Energy Specialist with us, you will play a crucial role in driving the energy transition in our properties. You will work both strategically and operationally with energy issues – from developing long-term energy strategies to implementing concrete projects in energy efficiency and renewable energy.
You will be responsible for optimizing and monitoring energy usage in our properties, analyzing energy consumption, and proposing measures that reduce costs and environmental impact.
In your role as Energy Specialist, you will primarily work on the following tasks:
- Collaborate with our Technical Manager to develop and drive technical initiatives that enhance the portfolio's value over time.
- Be responsible for Catena's electricity trading strategy, from market monitoring to procurement and follow-up.
- Act as a super-user for energy-related systems and tools, ensuring data quality and providing user support.
- Participate in decision-making processes for energy investments – from feasibility studies and LCC calculations to implementation and follow-up.
- Support management in projects related to energy efficiency, energy storage, solar energy, and operational optimization.
- Serve as a supportive and advisory partner to our technical management in matters concerning energy, operational optimization, and control technology.
- Analyze and report energy statistics and key figures in close collaboration with technical management and sustainability.
You will work closely with our management organization, which is geographically spread from Umeå in the north to Malmö in the south. The position is based at one of our regional offices in Malmö/Helsingborg or Årsta (Stockholm). You will report to our Technical Manager, who is located in Malmö.
About You
You are analytical and have a knack for understanding relationships and seeing the bigger picture. You are passionate about energy and operational optimization issues and enjoy staying updated on industry developments to identify improvement potential.
You are structured, take initiative in your work, and possess strong communication skills. Since the role involves close collaboration with our management and adjacent departments, it is important that you enjoy being an inspirer and building good relationships.
To succeed in this role, we see that you have:
- Post-secondary education in technology, energy, electricity, or HVAC.
- Experience in the energy field or similar technical operations.
- Experience in real estate, operations, or energy optimization.
- Experience in electricity trading and energy strategic work.
- Good ability to express yourself verbally and in writing in both Swedish and English.
- Familiarity with working with IT systems and digital tools.
It is advantageous if you have:
- Experience in project management and implementing energy projects.
- Experience with LCC.
We value experience, but for us, it is also important who you are. At Catena, we prioritize the team over the individual and place great value on humility and the willingness to help. We are proud of our shared values; we exceed expectations, we take responsibility over time, and we are engaged. These values permeate everything we do, and we hope you can relate to them and want to be a part of them.
