About the Job
As an administrator in one of the CSO units, you will be part of a dynamic group of colleagues managing support for civil society organizations. Your responsibilities will include reviewing and assessing applications, preparing decision-making materials, following up on projects, and engaging in dialogue with various stakeholders in the aid sector. The operations include support through both Swedish and international civil society organizations and direct support to civil society in developing countries. Through your work, you will contribute to promoting democracy, human rights, and human security, as well as strengthening the capacity and conditions of organizations. You will also participate in and contribute to the unit's learning and method development.
You will work at Sida's office in Rissne Sundbyberg. The position is located in the Global Department, which encompasses global strategy and program management and operates within Sida's various thematic areas.
Responsibilities
The main responsibilities in this role include:
• Managing initiatives including assessing applications, following up and analyzing initiatives, and engaging in dialogue with partners.
• Utilizing and developing relevant methods and approaches to support civil society, including partners' capacity development, results management, and aid effectiveness.
• Preparing materials and engaging in dialogue at various levels and with different stakeholders, including other donors.
• Coordinating groups and processes within the unit.
• If necessary, being responsible for contacts with internal and external actors, such as foreign authorities and the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, as well as the business community and the research community.
• Other tasks as needed within the unit and department.

Qualifications
Education
• A university degree in a relevant field for the position.
Languages
• Excellent proficiency in Swedish and English, both spoken and written.
Work Experience and Knowledge
• Several years of documented experience in international development cooperation, including experience working in developing countries.
• Documented experience in administration within development cooperation, including work with budgeting and financial reporting.
• Documented experience of working with or for civil society organizations.

• Experience in managing support to civil society in challenging contexts.
• Experience in policy and method development related to civil society and civil society support.
• Experience working with civil society on issues related to democracy, human rights, rule of law principles, accountability, anti-corruption, tolerance, free markets and property rights, gender equality, and/or peace and security.
• Experience with innovative initiatives in development cooperation, such as support for informal networks and movements as well as support for human rights defenders in difficult contexts.
• Experience working in a government agency.
• Language skills in French, Spanish, Arabic, or other languages relevant to Sida.
Good to Know
The position is a permanent employment with a start date in April 2026. A probationary period applies.
