About this role

In the picturesque town of Karlskoga, exciting developments are underway. Here, you are always close to both beautiful nature and a high-tech industrial sector. We offer you a welcoming workplace where people and innovations can thrive. Karlskoga Municipality works with competency-based recruitment aimed at recognizing each individual's skills and thereby counteracting discrimination. Aggerud School is part of the school administration and is located in the southern part of Karlskoga. We have approximately 400 students at the school, and we work collaboratively to develop teaching in our classrooms and after-school care. Our team at the school is a well-functioning and open group where everyone contributes to a pleasant atmosphere and well-being together. "I have worked at many places, but I have never been welcomed as warmly as at Aggerud School" (After-school teacher who started in January 2024). Welcome to a meaningful job where you can truly make a difference! JOB DESCRIPTION As a student coach, you play a crucial role in the well-being of students throughout the school day. You provide support during breaks and various study situations, acting as a guide and supplementary adult support within the school. You will collaborate closely with the school's counselor, educators, and other staff members. The foundation of your work is a belief that everyone can succeed and that students should be given the opportunity to grow, develop, and strengthen their self-esteem. Your responsibilities include, but are not limited to: • Motivating, supporting, and assisting students or individual students throughout the school day, for example during breaks, lessons, and transitions • Participating in the school's work regarding incidents of harassment and the measures taken • Actively participating in and planning meaningful activities during breaks • Working proactively and preventively to promote students' school attendance • Being part of the school's safety initiatives. QUALIFICATIONS We are looking for someone with a completed post-secondary education, such as a leisure leader. Experience in similar work and with children/students with neuropsychiatric disorders (NPF) is an advantage. The role requires you to be confident and capable of working independently, possess good collaboration skills with students, guardians, colleagues, and external parties, and have the ability to build positive relationships with them. We place great importance on personal suitability. ADDITIONAL INFORMATION To work in preschool, school, and youth and leisure activities, you must, according to the law on background checks, provide a police record extract. You must request the extract from the Swedish Police Authority using the form "Extract from the Criminal Record" available on the police website. If you have protected personal information, do not register your application documents in our recruitment system. Instead, contact PA support (HR department) at tel: 0586-610 55 for further handling.
