About this role
Description
Hökegården AG is a specialized upper secondary school in Gothenburg.
The school consists of two units that collaborate and share facilities, with approximately 50 employees and 44 students. Our students are enrolled in the individual program of the specialized upper secondary school and are at various developmental levels with intellectual disabilities. We are now seeking two dedicated teaching assistants who want to support our students in their education.
Responsibilities
As a teaching assistant in the individual program, you will work based on each student's abilities and needs. It is important to us that you believe in the students' potential for development and that you see opportunities rather than obstacles. At the school, we adapt our methods to meet the needs of students with intellectual disabilities, autism, and mobility impairments. Some students have multiple disabilities, such as epilepsy, visual impairments, hearing impairments, etc. The students require support in most situations throughout the school day. We aim to stimulate the students' curiosity and creativity by varying the teaching methods with the help of, for example, music, art, and digital tools.
Together with competent and experienced colleagues, you will work in a team consisting of a special education teacher and several teaching assistants. You will implement and develop the students' education and help find individual solutions so that each student can acquire knowledge in six subject areas: language and communication, aesthetic activities, sports and health, nature and environment, home and consumer studies, and social studies.
