Ref: 20252648 Job Responsibilities We are now seeking someone who wants to be part of our team at Skolan på ÖN and work in the important role of teaching assistant! As a teaching assistant with us, you will work in close collaboration with the responsible primary school teacher. You will work with a 1st-grade student who has type 1 diabetes during school and after-school hours. Your main tasks will involve helping the student navigate through daily life, following along in classes, and helping the student find calm in their studies. In addition, your duties may include helping the student practice various daily tasks, providing support during breaks, in changing rooms, on field trips, and in the after-school program. Qualifications You should have a completed high school education. A background in the Child and Recreation program is considered meritorious. You must have at least two years of work experience, including work with children and youth. Previous experience working in primary school with students who need special support is required. We are looking for someone with experience and knowledge of working with children with type 1 diabetes. It is meritorious if you are familiar with the T1D, Dexcom G6, and Dexcom Follow apps. We prefer candidates with good knowledge of the school curriculum and other documents governing school operations. We also value understanding how various disabilities affect student learning and how to best compensate for these. Naturally, you will have a professional approach and work to build good relationships with our students, their guardians, and all your colleagues at the school. Welcome to apply!
