About this role

Are you passionate about school development, improving teaching, and creating new pathways to enhance student outcomes? Then look no further! We are currently seeking a student assistant for our adapted primary school. **Job Responsibilities** In the role of student assistant at our adapted primary school, you will work closely with our special education teacher, classroom teachers, and of course, other student assistants. The number and type of students you will support may vary, providing you with a dynamic and varied work environment. Working hours may vary within our range of 06:00-18:00. In this position, you will be responsible for the after-school program, alternating between opening and closing, as well as providing support during school hours. We offer a stimulating and developmental work environment where you will have the opportunity to help shape the school's operations. Your responsibilities will also include our after-school program, where we have a close collaboration with the primary school's after-school services. **About the School** Nytorpsskolan is beautifully located in Hammarkullen, right next to a small forest area. In our adapted primary school, we work in an age-integrated manner across grades 4-9. Currently, there are two classes with a total of 14 students, but there is capacity for 16. One class focuses on subjects and the other on subject areas. Each class has one teacher and typically two student assistants. If needed, we can have more student assistants at the student or group level. A qualified special educator/special teacher also works full-time at our adapted school, closely overseeing the operations. **Qualifications** We are looking for someone with a high school education, preferably with a focus that has provided you with knowledge about students in adapted primary schools. We also expect you to have experience working with individuals with various disabilities. Experience in an adapted primary school is an advantage. If you have training in care and/or experience with Augmentative and Alternative Communication (AAC), that is also a merit for the position. The role requires you to express yourself fluently in Swedish, both verbally and in writing, and to be able to comprehend and process professional literature in Swedish. Speaking multiple languages or having previously worked in a multicultural environment is a plus. As a person, you are attentive and a good communicator. You work systematically with individual adaptations and clear pedagogical approaches, and you maintain a low-arousal attitude. You have strong collaboration skills and can build trusting relationships with colleagues, students, and guardians, and you are confident in yourself and your professional role. You need to be willing to help develop the operations based on each student's needs. In an area characterized by linguistic and cultural diversity, we see differences as an asset. We expect that you share our commitment to support all students based on their circumstances. You should be active, participatory, proactive, and flexible to meet the various individuals and tasks that the job entails. Does this description fit you? We welcome your application! The position will be filled unless it is taken by internal candidates. **Additional Information** As an employee in our administration, you will be offered, among other things, wellness benefits, bicycle allowances, and employee support. According to the Education Act, a police record extract must be presented by individuals before they are employed in preschool, school, and school-age childcare. You can order this from the Police's website. In preparation for this recruitment, we have made decisions regarding recruitment channels, and therefore we kindly decline any further offers of competence mediation, advertising, and recruitment assistance. We only accept applications via our recruitment system in accordance with GDPR. **About Us** We are creating the future in Gothenburg – one lesson at a time. Every weekday, thousands of children and young people meet in our schools – together with them, we shape the future of Gothenburg. In the primary school administration, we are 10,000 dedicated employees working together to ensure that all students succeed and grow, regardless of their background or circumstances. You play an important role in creating an equitable school of high quality, where you can both develop and enhance the operations. You build knowledge, community, and belief in the future together with your colleagues. With us, you can truly make a difference. Gothenburg's primary school administration is responsible for the city's nearly 140 municipal schools, from preschool classes to grade 9, adapted primary schools, after-school programs, and cultural schools. Welcome to work close to the forest, the city, or the sea. We are Gothenburg.
