Description
From the autumn term of 2021, the organization of our primary schools in the City of Gothenburg has changed.
We have expanded the number of leadership positions to create sustainable school leadership teams with a principal and vice principal. The new organization aims to provide us with good conditions for creating an equitable school with high-quality teaching. In the new organization, we are forming school areas with one or more school units and common leadership teams. The leadership teams will enable schools to collaborate more effectively and become stronger together.
School Area 20 in Southwest consists of the following five school units:
- Deaf and Hard of Hearing F-9, Kannebäck
- Adapted Primary School 1-9, Kannebäck
- Resource School 1-9, Kannebäck
- Ängåsskolan F-6
- Vättnedalsskolan F-6
The leadership team for School Area Southwest 20 consists of one principal and six vice principals, along with approximately 300 employees.
Job Responsibilities
We are seeking a student assistant for Kannebäck School's adapted primary school. This is a permanent position.
As a student assistant, you will work closely with the work team and follow the students throughout their school day, both during lessons and transitions, as well as during after-school activities. Your role includes being the student's motivator, supporting them in their schoolwork, and facilitating social interactions throughout the school day. Building long-term relationships is an essential part of the job. The work involves supporting a student or a small group of students from a care and support perspective in an adapted primary school setting.
Qualifications
We are looking for candidates who have completed upper secondary education with further training in the relevant field. You have at least six months of experience working in an adapted primary school. You have experience working with children and young people who have a significant need for low-arousal responses. Knowledge of or previous experience with sign language or TAKK is an advantage, as several students at the school are deaf or have hearing impairments.
As a person, you are accustomed to handling conflicts and are not afraid to act professionally in unforeseen situations. You need to be able to collaborate with many other assistants and teachers and have a humble approach to create a positive daily experience for the student. You should also possess good tools to support students in teaching situations. You have strong social skills and approach your work with a positive attitude.
