Job Description
We are currently seeking a teaching assistant for Högaholm School who will work with one or more students in both the school and after-school program.
As a teaching assistant, you will be involved in planning, implementing, and evaluating the educational work with the student/group under the guidance of the responsible educator in accordance with your assignment. This may involve assisting students with reading and writing difficulties, concentration issues, psychosocial challenges, and/or various types of disabilities. The role of a teaching assistant with us entails varied tasks based on the nature of the individual assignment. Your work situation will be adapted to the children's daily conditions, which means you need to be flexible and prepared for rapid changes in your work. Collaboration will occur with other professional groups and functions. Furthermore, the teaching assistant will contribute to promoting the student's development and enabling a well-functioning and safe everyday life. After school hours, the teaching assistant will work in the after-school program.
Qualifications
Do you want to work for the benefit of every student's school experience? The ideal candidate has completed upper secondary education. If your education is from the child and youth program, we consider it an asset. You have at least two years of work experience, including work with children and youth. Additionally, you have significant experience working with students in school who require low-arousal approaches. Experience working with children with autism and language disorders is also considered an asset.
We prefer that you have a good knowledge of the school curriculum and other documents that govern the school’s operations. We also expect you to understand how various disabilities affect a student's learning and how to best accommodate these needs.
As a person, you are responsible, possess a great deal of patience, are flexible, and have strong social skills, treating students, guardians, and colleagues with respect and a solid value base. You recognize success factors, strengths, and opportunities in every child and youth. Furthermore, you are driven and can work both independently and as part of a team. You are accustomed to collaborating with others to help students develop as much as possible and have the ability to support the student in their knowledge development.
Based on scientific principles and proven experience, you will help develop the operations for the student. Naturally, you maintain a professional approach and work towards building good relationships with our students, their guardians, and all your colleagues at the school.

About the Workplace
Located in the green area of Lindängen, Högaholm School is an F–6 school with approximately 430 students. In January 2024, we opened Högaholm School in new, beautiful facilities. Here, there are modern classrooms that provide a pleasant learning environment conducive to focus. In addition to classrooms, there are science/art rooms, a home economics room, woodworking, metalworking, and textile rooms, a music room, and a school library. Our dedicated staff aims to ensure that our students' school days are characterized by safety, study focus, and an enjoyable learning environment where the students' knowledge development is the priority. Högaholm School is a partner school, and in collaboration with Malmö University, we are involved in training future teachers. The after-school program at Högaholm School consists of three independent departments that collaborate with the lower grades during the school day. The after-school program has its own facilities within the school.
