Job Responsibilities
We are now seeking someone who wants to be part of our team at Glasbruksskolan and work in the important role of teaching assistant! As a teaching assistant with us, you will work in close collaboration with the responsible primary school teacher. You will work with one or more students in a middle school class who need extra support to follow the instruction.
This may involve helping students with reading and writing difficulties, concentration problems, psychosocial challenges, and/or various types of disabilities. Your primary tasks will therefore focus on helping the student(s) follow the instruction and find peace in their studies. Additionally, your responsibilities may include helping students practice various daily tasks, providing support during breaks, in changing rooms, on field trips, and in after-school care.
Qualifications
The ideal candidate has a completed high school education, with a background in the Child and Leisure Program being particularly meritorious. You should have at least two years of work experience, including work with children and youth. Previous experience working in primary school with students who have special support needs is required. We are looking for someone with experience and knowledge of working with children with diabetes.
We prefer candidates with good knowledge of the school curriculum and other documents governing school operations. We also value understanding how different disabilities affect student learning and how to best compensate for these. You will, of course, maintain a professional approach and work to build good relationships with our students, their guardians, and all your colleagues at the school. We welcome your application!
