Job Responsibilities
We are now looking for someone who wants to be a part of us at Augustenborg School and who wishes to work in the important role of a student assistant!
As a student assistant with us, you will work closely with the responsible primary school teacher. You will assist one or more students in a class who need extra support to keep up with the teaching. This may involve helping students with reading and writing difficulties, concentration issues, psychosocial challenges, and/or various types of disabilities.
This role largely consists of supervision and care for a student with an intellectual disability in the preschool class. Furthermore, the student assistant will contribute to promoting the student’s development and enabling a well-functioning and safe daily routine. After school hours, the student assistant will work at the after-school program.
Qualifications
You, as an applicant, should have completed upper secondary education. If your education is from the child and youth program, we consider this an advantage. You have at least two years of experience working with children and young people with disabilities/intellectual disabilities. Previous experience working in primary school with students who require special support is also preferred.
We would like you to have a good understanding of the school curriculum and other documents that govern the school’s operations. We also expect you to have knowledge of how different disabilities affect a student’s learning and how to best compensate for these challenges.
Of course, you have a professional approach and work towards building good relationships with our students, their guardians, and all your colleagues at the school.
