Students at Luleå Upper Secondary School will be given conditions for lifelong learning by focusing on knowledge, participation, responsibility, and leadership to prepare them for working life and society in general. There are numerous business community connections, and local steering groups collaborate to create good conditions for students to be well-prepared for life after upper secondary education. Adapted Upper Secondary School is an education targeting students with intellectual disabilities. Luleå Municipality's adapted upper secondary school offers four programs: Individual Program, Retail and Service Program, Hotel, Restaurant and Bakery Program, and Property and Construction Program. For students covered by LSS (Law on Support and Service), we also operate youth leisure activities. JOB RESPONSIBILITIES Working as a student assistant involves supporting students during school hours and creating the most accessible school situation possible by adapting the learning environment in collaboration with other staff. Before and after school hours, and during school breaks, you will work at Youth Leisure LSS, where students are offered meaningful leisure time in an environment that promotes safety, social awareness, and independence. At school and LSS youth leisure, you will collaborate in work teams to plan and implement various activities according to current guiding documents, focusing on student learning and development. QUALIFICATIONS We are seeking someone with experience working with students with intellectual disabilities. You have high expectations for students and their ability to develop. You work towards ensuring all students reach knowledge goals, develop as individuals, and feel that school and youth leisure provide a sense of context. You take responsibility and are attentive to each student's conditions, needs, curiosity, interests, and learning. You are a responsible and secure person who enjoys sharing your knowledge and experiences. You are flexible in addressing new situations and have a good ability to read and interpret situations. You have excellent communication and collaboration skills with students, colleagues, and guardians. You should have good knowledge of students with intellectual disabilities, neuropsychiatric disabilities, and alternative and complementary communication. Documented experience working in adapted school forms and LSS short-term supervision (youth leisure LSS) is considered meritorious. We will place significant emphasis on your personal qualities.
