About the Position Your work will primarily involve students who are studying subjects in adapted compulsory school grades 1-9, most of whom are at an early developmental stage (moderate to severe intellectual disabilities). As a student assistant, you are expected to create conditions for students to develop their abilities based on their learning and social contexts, both during school hours, leisure time, and during break activities. In your professional role, you will work with both individual students and groups of students. You will contribute to the realization of the curriculum's goals and intentions in the operation. Together with the work team, you will plan, implement, and document the educational work in the adapted compulsory school and leisure center. You will collaborate closely with teachers and other student assistants. The unit with students studying subjects consists of three classes with 6-7 students in each group. The school also has a class/three groups of students studying subjects in grades 4-9, as well as compulsory school grades F-3, 4-6, and 7-9. Examples of Responsibilities: • Assist students with special needs so they can participate in the school's education during school and leisure time • Assist with students' care needs during situations such as meal times, toilet visits, and similar activities • Participate in other tasks within the operation, such as escorting students in taxis or performing certain dishwashing and cleaning tasks • Interact with students, guardians, teachers, and other partners around the student • Be familiar with and follow the operation's applicable laws, policies, and routines About the Workplace Intrapreneurship Almby School is a school for all students, regardless of background, conditions, and needs. There is also collaboration with the adapted compulsory school's subject groups, grades 4-9, which are part of the 7-9 unit, as well as the leisure activities for F-3 and 4-6. Other units at the school are F-3, 4-6, and 7-9, each led by an assistant principal. The school is ultimately led by a principal for all units. The school has a large student health team with several special educators, special teachers, school nurses, and counselors, led by two team leaders. Qualifications As a student assistant with us, it is important to be secure and engaged in your role. You should enjoy collaborating with various internal and external parties and can relate to them in a responsive and smooth manner. You communicate clearly and remain calm in stressful situations. Furthermore, you are curious, creative, and focus on the student's best interests in all learning situations. You can work independently within given frameworks and have the ability to be flexible according to the demands of the situation. Additionally, you are proficient in the Swedish language to communicate with students and other staff and can document what is required by the operation in writing. You have good computer skills as the work involves digital documentation. The job requires physical capability as lifting and moving with assistance may occur, and students may sometimes challenge their mobility. We place great emphasis on personal suitability. Requirements: • Completed upper secondary education from the Child and Recreation program, nursing assistant, or other equivalent education deemed relevant by the employer for the position • Documented experience working with children/adults with intellectual or physical disabilities Meritorious: • Knowledge in AAC, e.g., visual support and sign support • Training in guided interaction, ICDP • Experience working
