About this role
Are you a pedagogical, secure, and flexible person? We have an assignment for you! We are currently seeking a teaching assistant for an adapted primary school in Partille municipality.
You will work with students who have varying degrees of intellectual functional variations. Sometimes in combination with outward-acting behavior and occasionally neuropsychiatric challenges. Each student is unique, which means you need to adapt your approach depending on the situation and student to offer the best possible conditions for our students.
As a teaching assistant, you will be with the student group during all moments of the school day. This may involve leading an activity, providing support during lessons, during breaks, and in our after-school program. You will work to stimulate and challenge students' development and learning, in close collaboration with special education teachers, after-school teachers, and preschool teachers. The work is characterized by low-affective approach, clarifying pedagogy, and alternative communication strategies.
We have generous operating hours, and your work times include opening at 6:00 AM on some days and closing at 6:00 PM on other days. One evening a week, you will work until 6:30 PM.
Qualifications
We are seeking someone with a support pedagogy background or a secondary education from the Child and Leisure Program, or other education/experience that the employer deems equivalent. You should have work-related experience leading groups, competence in intellectual functional variations, neuropsychiatric diagnoses, low-affective approach, and clarifying pedagogy. You need to be able to express yourself well in Swedish, both verbally and in writing. The work is physically demanding and may involve heavy lifting, challenging and outward-acting behaviors, and occasionally high noise levels that you must be able to handle.
It is meritorious if you have knowledge of school governing documents, as you will be involved in planning, implementing, documenting, and following up the pedagogical activities together with the team.
We place great importance on personal suitability, especially in approach, flexibility, and collaboration ability. Furthermore, we seek someone with a high degree of personal maturity, who is secure and stable both professionally and personally. You should be skilled at building professional and sustainable relationships with students and guardians.
