Your Role
As a teaching assistant at our school, you will work in a team with teachers and other pedagogues to create successful and educational days for our students. As an employee at Haga VIP, you are a crucial part of creating a safe environment for our students while enabling their development according to their abilities. Together with the teacher, you will plan and structure the school day using tailored pedagogy that provides predictability and security. You will support students throughout the school day, during lessons, breaks, and potential after-school activities. An important part of the work is stimulating and motivating students to develop their abilities and create learning opportunities. Your tasks will also include some documentation.
About Haga VIP Adapted Elementary & Secondary School
Located in Hagalund, centrally accessible by bus, train, and metro from Stockholm and surrounding areas, near Solna Center, Haga Park, and other green areas. Large facilities well-adapted for our target group. The school serves youth with autism spectrum disorder and intellectual disabilities. Currently, 21 students attend the school. Our students follow subject areas and individual programs at the secondary level. 20 employees with diverse competencies and experiences work at Haga VIP.
We are a small school with large facilities, featuring small teaching groups and high staff density. We specialize in flexible individual solutions for our target group and value driven, committed employees who want to develop the organization together.

Your Experience and Knowledge
We are looking for someone who:

• Enjoys working in teams and supporting colleagues
We seek someone with significant engagement and interest in working with children and youth with special support needs. We prefer candidates with relevant education (social worker, behavioral scientist, childcare worker, etc.) and at least one year of similar work experience. Minimum requirement is high school education in healthcare, childcare, or children and leisure, or equivalent. Experience working with our target group, students with neuropsychiatric or intellectual disabilities, is advantageous.
Knowledge of challenging behavior, clear pedagogical methods, and communication tools like sign language and PECS are merits. It's crucial to be confident in your role, as we work with children/youth with severe behavioral disorders. Low-affective approach and experience with challenging behavior are advantageous.
Clarity, flexibility, and sensitivity are extremely important at our school. We place great emphasis on personal suitability. For us, competence is about potential, values, and motivation as much as education, experience, and factual knowledge.
Good Swedish language skills are required, as our students need clear communication. We strive for gender balance and see diversity as a strength!
