Do you want to help create the best conditions for equitable education? At the Swedish National Agency for Special Needs Education and Schools (SPSM), we work to ensure that all children, students, and adult learners with disabilities achieve their educational goals. We operate our own special schools in various locations across Sweden. We also provide support to preschools and schools nationwide to collaboratively create learning environments that are developmental and accessible. Additionally, we distribute government grants and develop educational materials. Together, we remove barriers! We hope that you, as an applicant, with your background and expertise, can contribute to increasing our diversity. We are committed to making everyone’s equal value a reality. Together, we use collaboration and expertise to fulfill our mission. Developing leadership and increasing diversity are currently on our agenda. Together, we contribute to sustainability in society economically, socially, and environmentally. You can read more about what we offer at www.spsm.se/ledigajobb. All students have the right to a school that allows them to develop based on their individual circumstances. SPSM operates schools on behalf of the state. We provide students with a learning environment that enables participation, learning, and development. We offer meaningful, stimulating, and important educational work in our schools. Hällsboskolan Kungsholmen in Stockholm welcomes students with severe language impairments from grade 2 to grade 10. Our teaching focuses on language and communication. The goal is for students to have the conditions to meet knowledge requirements, be active participants in various social contexts, and develop as individuals. We offer accommodations for students who cannot commute to school every day. Would you like to work at a school and after-school program where student communication is at the center? Are you passionate about creating safety, structure, and meaningful activities for students with severe language impairments? We are now looking for an engaged teaching assistant to work throughout the school day as well as during morning and afternoon hours at one of our after-school programs! About us: Hällsboskolan Kungsholmen is a state special school for students with severe language impairments. Here, you will work in a unique educational environment where teaching and after-school activities are tailored to each student’s needs. Our vision is: Hällsboskolan: An inspiration and a role model! Equitable education for all! Together, we make a difference. We want our students, when they leave Hällsboskolan, to have developed tools and strategies so that they are prepared to face the challenges of the next steps in life. JOB RESPONSIBILITIES As a teaching assistant at Hällsboskolan, you contribute to creating an inclusive and accessible learning environment, a setting that makes a difference. The work takes place throughout the entire school day as well as during after-school activities in the morning and afternoon, including during school breaks. You will be part of a team that collaboratively creates optimal and individualized conditions based on the students' needs and circumstances. Collaboration within the team is central, even though your primary role involves supporting one or more students in their personal development, which may pertain to everyday situations, routines, social interactions, and learning. This occurs in close cooperation with the team, mentors, and families, as this is a key factor in effectively helping the student(s) progress in their overall development. In your role as a teaching assistant at Hällsboskolan, you create a safe social climate and trusting relationships by demonstrating conviction that the student(s) want to learn and develop. You combine care for and security regarding the student(s)’ situation with learning and development, and in your role, you seek to contribute to a greater understanding of the student(s)’ situation for yourself, for the student(s), and for other students, colleagues, and guardians. We are now looking for someone who both wants to and can contribute to this journey. Here, you make a real difference every day! QUALIFICATIONS We are looking for someone who: • Has completed upper secondary education or other training deemed equivalent by the employer. • Has experience working in schools and after-school programs. It is advantageous if you have: • Experience working in special schools. • Experience with students with language impairments. • Experience with sign language support (TAKK). OTHER A six-month probationary period applies. A criminal background check must be presented prior to employment. In the event of a societal crisis, you may be directed to work across the agency's operational areas based on your placement location. In preparation for the recruitment process, we have made decisions regarding recruitment channels and marketing. We kindly decline all offers of advertising and recruitment assistance at this time.
