What You'll Be Part Of
A high school focused on technology and IT where relational approach is crucial to our success. You'll become part of a small faculty where we work with a shared responsibility for our students, which means collaborating between educators, resource teachers, student support team, and management to help each student reach their full potential. What We Offer You
You will work closely with one of our excellent technology classes, follow them in instruction, and collaborate with educators. You will also have some dedicated resource time with students in our library. Together with other resource teachers, under the guidance of our special education teacher and counselor, you'll receive support and supervision in your role.
What We're Looking For
As a student assistant at NTI Gymnasiet, you'll work closely with teachers, special education teachers, and other student assistants to create a safe and supportive learning environment for our students. You'll support one or more students who need special assistance to develop both socially and academically during their high school years.
Your task involves helping students follow instruction, find study calm, and develop learning strategies. Support may involve assisting with concentration difficulties, reading and writing challenges, psychosocial issues. You'll be a present support throughout the school day – in the classroom, during breaks, for practical activities, study visits, and other activities.
We're Seeking Someone Who Has:
• High school diploma
• Student assistant education or other relevant post-secondary education and/or at least two years of experience working with youth, preferably in high school or specialized setting
• Experience working with students needing special support
• Good knowledge of school governing documents and ability to implement them
• Knowledge of various disabilities and their impact on learning
• Comfort in a leadership role
• Understanding and experience with low-affective approach
