Become one of us! **About the Workplace** At our adapted primary school, there are approximately 60 students in grades 1-9. We have students who study both by subjects and subject areas. Several professional groups work at the adapted primary school, including teaching assistants/recreational staff, special teachers, and special educators. Together, we strive to ensure that the students' entire school day is safe, with a focus on educational assignments. **Job Responsibilities** We are looking for someone with a strong interest in people and the ability to build good relationships. As a teaching assistant in the adapted primary school, you will work during school hours and leisure time, focusing on each student's individual development and circumstances. The students have significant care needs and require support in various situations throughout the school day. You will implement and develop the students' education in collaboration with the team, and you will share responsibility with colleagues for planning and activities in the after-school program. The work is physically demanding and includes elements of care. As staff at the adapted primary school, you are expected to be outdoors daily and participate in activities such as forest walks, floor games, and swimming at the pool. You will be involved in the students' ADL (Activities of Daily Living) and need to be able to use lifts, various physical aids, and tube feeding. **Qualifications** We expect you to have experience working with students in need of AAC (Augmentative and Alternative Communication), as well as the ability to interpret social interactions and signals from the students. Furthermore, we see you as a positive adult role model who is secure and trust-building, with a professional and low-arousal approach. You should have completed upper secondary education with a focus on children and leisure or health and care, or another qualification that the employer deems equivalent in education or experience. We prefer candidates with experience working with TAKK (sign language as alternative and complementary communication). It is an advantage if you have completed training as a teaching assistant and have experience working with individuals with intellectual and physical disabilities. You have a strong interest in people and the ability to create good relationships. You are flexible, solution-oriented, and responsive to the students' individual needs. It is essential that you are calm and pedagogical, with great patience and the ability to create a sense of security for each student. You need to demonstrate clarity in your actions. Experience working in after-school programs is an advantage.
