Ersboda Adapted Primary School is located in Östra Ersboda and Ersäng School.
Ersäng School is a multicultural F–9 school situated in Östra Ersboda, serving approximately 400 students. The school also provides an adapted primary school focusing on subject areas for grades 1-6, as well as resource classes for the entire municipality. We boast one of Sweden's best school libraries and are conveniently located near a football field and an adventure playground.
Östra Ersbodaskolan is a small, dynamic school offering preschool classes up to grade 3, as well as an adapted primary school for grades 1-6. We have competent staff and students from many different cultures, with ample opportunities for outdoor activities. The library, football field, and illuminated exercise track are located right next to the school. The school is situated in the residential area of Östra Ersboda, representing a mix of cultures and nationalities.
We are currently seeking two substitute student assistants!
Your Responsibilities
As a student assistant at the adapted primary school, your primary role will be to support students with special needs in their learning, development, and daily activities. You will work to create a safe, stimulating, and inclusive environment that enables each student to reach their full potential.
Main Duties:
- Support in Teaching: Assist students during lessons by providing extra explanations and help with assignments.
- Accompany students on field trips, excursions, and other school-related activities to provide necessary support.
- Educational Support: Provide assistance to students with cognitive, motor, or communication difficulties. Encourage and help students to participate in classroom activities and social interactions.
- Practical Support: Help with personal needs such as eating, dressing, transfers, or other daily routines as required. Support students in following routines and structure throughout the school day.
- Support students during breaks and other recreational activities to ensure safety and social interaction.
- Social and Emotional Support: Work to promote students' self-confidence and independence. Handle conflicts and situations where students may require additional emotional support, and collaborate with other staff as needed. Support students in developing social skills, communication, and interaction with others.
This job description may be adapted depending on the student group, but it provides a basic overview of the most common tasks for a student assistant/resource person within the adapted primary school.
About You
We are looking for candidates who have:
- Completed high school education, preferably with a focus on health care or child and youth work
- A valid extract from the criminal record register
- Good proficiency in the Swedish language, both spoken and written, as well as basic knowledge of English
- Experience working with children with special needs
We would like you to be a trained childcare worker/student assistant or have another educational background relevant to the role. Knowledge of NPF diagnoses, TAKK, AAC, accessible learning environments, and/or low-arousal approaches is also an advantage.
You are a trustworthy adult and a good role model. You have the ability to connect with students and recognize each individual, creating a safe school environment and collaborating with others to achieve set goals. As a person, you are flexible, clear, and structured. You enjoy working with children in need of special support and understand the importance of your role in their school day. You have good collaboration skills, are attentive, and communicate easily with students and other important professional groups related to the target audience. You possess a strong ability to cooperate and maintain a professional demeanor towards children, their families, and other stakeholders surrounding the students. You are engaged and willing to share our values and work toward established goals while striving for continuous improvements. We place great importance on personal suitability.

Other Information
Two substitute full-time positions are available, starting as soon as possible by agreement and lasting until June 26, 2026. There is a potential for permanent employment.
