Job Responsibilities
We are now seeking someone who wants to be part of our team at Katrinelundsskolan and who wants to work in the important role of teaching assistant!
As a teaching assistant, you will work with one or more students/groups of students in school, preschool class, and/or after-school care. You will be involved in planning, implementing, and evaluating pedagogical work with students alongside the responsible educator in accordance with your assignment. Our teaching assistants contribute to high-quality pedagogical content based on curriculum goals and intentions.
In your role, you will help promote student development. The assignment may include care for individual students and/or work with students with physical or cognitive disabilities. As a teaching assistant, you will work based on provided student documentation, such as pedagogical documentation or medical action plans.
The work as a teaching assistant involves varied tasks depending on the specific assignment's nature. Collaboration occurs with other professional groups and functions at the school. If necessary, contact with guardians may also be part of the assignment. The assignment can change based on operational needs, potentially including work in after-school care, across all school stages, or in preschool classes.
Qualifications
You have a basic high school education, with a focus on child and leisure studies being meritorious. At least two years of work experience, including work with children and youth. Previous experience working in primary school with students requiring special support is also meritorious. Experience actively working with low-affective approach strategies and supporting social interaction training.
You have insight and knowledge of school governance documents and the ability to apply them in daily work. Special understanding of the conditions for students needing special support based on operational requirements. Knowledge of low-affective approaches. You also have personal competence and are confident in building trusting relationships with challenging students, seeing the value in helping each student succeed according to their conditions.
