About Beyond Gravity
At Beyond Gravity in Gothenburg, approximately 200 people work on developing and manufacturing advanced equipment for use in space. Our main products include computers for carrier rockets and satellites, microwave electronics for telecommunications satellites, and antennas for communication between satellites and between satellites and earth.
We are part of a global company, with headquarters in Switzerland, and together we are a team of 1,800 people in 6 different countries, challenging the boundaries of what is technically possible. Our products are used to study climate impact on earth, support global communication, and explore the secrets of the universe – we contribute to improving life on earth!
Your Team
The Engineering Department in Gothenburg consists of around 60 employees plus consultants, operating in multiple different electronic development expertise areas. The System and Verification section comprises chief engineers, system engineers, and verification engineers, and has overall responsibility for design and verification of our digital products, such as onboard computers and interface units. Your team plays central roles in our projects, both in customer projects and internal product development, and is responsible for technical communication with our customers.
Your Mission
As Head of System and Verification Engineering, you will work closely with other section heads whose teams are responsible for detailed design, such as electronic design, software and FPGA development, and mechanical design, as well as with project managers and marketing teams.
You are responsible for continuing to build and coach a high-performing team, focusing on executing our projects and product developments successfully, and creating a strong culture of innovation and continuous improvement. Your area of responsibility also covers development processes and working methods within the team.
The position includes:
• Leading and developing your team, creating motivation, a good work environment, and a positive team spirit.
• Ensuring the section has necessary resources and competencies, and that required resources are allocated in our projects, product developments, and technical tender work.
• Driving the development of relevant engineering processes and ensuring cost, quality, and customer satisfaction within your area of responsibility in projects.
• Building and developing collaboration with other parts of the organization, such as other engineering sections, production, project management, and marketing.
• Together with other engineering department managers, ensuring good development of the department's ability to meet technical challenges and its financial performance.
About You
We believe you have a university degree in a relevant engineering field, such as electronics, software, or space technology, or have an equivalent technical background, and can express yourself well verbally and in writing, both in Swedish and English. You have experience from leadership roles, with an interest in leadership and leadership development, and are skilled at coaching your team. Experience from the space or aviation industry, or other complex areas, and an understanding of relevant engineering processes and methods are advantageous.
Your personal qualities are important, and as a leader in our organization, you are driven by motivating team members to grow and challenge themselves. In your work, you are interested in finding solutions rather than focusing on problems and are simultaneously willing to be creative in your proposed actions. With your willingness to collaborate across organizational interfaces, you have the ability to see the big picture, evaluate situations, understand consequences, and prioritize the right tasks for your team.
