About this role
Are you driven by seeing your ideas come to life? Welcome to our exciting and technology-intensive world.
Your Role
Are you a university graduate or engineer looking to deepen your expertise in hardware design? If you are also a proactive individual who enjoys developing technical solutions for support systems/system rigs and maintaining them, you now have the opportunity to grow alongside 8 skilled hardware designers and systems engineers who are all eager to welcome additional colleagues to the team.
As a hardware designer for System Rigs, you will work closely with your colleagues to develop high-quality development rigs, maintain them, and further develop them over time. You will be responsible for designing, procuring materials, assembling, testing, and maintaining your design, as well as providing support to those who use your system. The time required to develop a support system can vary, but often you will work on longer projects together with colleagues from the integration and verification section. You will also collaborate with colleagues working on the software development for the rigs.
In addition to hardware designers, the group also consists of systems engineers, RF developers of simulators, and individuals who develop circuit boards. The experience level within the team varies, and the group has a strong sense of cohesion. Many team members possess extensive knowledge not only in their field but also about other SAAB products, which is highly valuable; knowledge is shared continuously among colleagues in a natural manner. There is a commitment to maintaining the positive atmosphere that has been built.
The group's work spans a wide technical field, providing excellent opportunities for development, and there is also a chance for those looking to find their niche. The role will also offer opportunities to visit other units within SAAB in Sweden in connection with environmental qualification or customer interactions.
Your Profile
As a person, we believe you have accumulated valuable experience, either in this area or in a related field. What matters most to us is not exactly where you come from, but that you have a genuine interest in both hardware design and SAAB as a company. You thrive on taking responsibility, drive your work forward independently, and are willing to take the initiative when you see opportunities for improvement.
To succeed in this role, we also see that you are curious, technically inclined, and have a natural sense of service. You communicate clearly and find it easy to build good relationships with colleagues, suppliers, and customers. You work methodically and structured, but also have the ability to be flexible when the situation requires it. Since the role involves both troubleshooting and practical work, we appreciate candidates who are not hesitant to roll up their sleeves when needed. You are sociable, eager to share your knowledge, and inspired by collaborating with others. At the same time, you have an analytical eye and can make sound decisions even when the parameters are not entirely defined. Great emphasis will be placed on personal suitability - we are looking for someone who wants to grow with us and contribute to SAAB's continued success.
We are looking for you who:
* Hold an academic degree as a university or engineering graduate in Electronics.
* Have several years of experience in hardware design - both analog and digital, as well as good knowledge in schematic and layout drawing and circuit board pattern design, including cabling design.
* Have knowledge of other components in electrical systems.
* It is advantageous if you have an understanding of measurement technology with knowledge in the RF area or have worked with various tools for electronic design such as Mentor Graphics.
The position requires you to undergo and be approved according to the applicable regulations for security protection. For positions where SAAB has requirements for security classification, this may entail requirements for certain citizenship.
