About this role
Proactive and socially aware? Then we believe you will thrive with us. Statistics Sweden (SCB) is the country's largest and foremost source of knowledge in statistics. Our statistics are used everywhere, at the kitchen table, in news reporting, and by decision-makers in the parliament and government.
JOB DESCRIPTION
Do you have experience in data management and analysis? Do you have knowledge in databases, programming, or version control of code? Are you also interested in financial markets? If so, you might be the person we are looking for! With us, you will belong to a section where collaboration is a given and where work is driven forward together.
We are looking for a colleague for the section of securities statistics and credit database. The section consists of twelve people and is responsible for providing microdatabases on credits and securities. We do this in three teams working with the Credit Database (KRITA), Securities Holdings (VINN), and Issued Securities (SVDB). The section also has a recently formed team responsible for a register of company information (the actor register). The information in the actor register is used in combination with credit and securities data.
Data collection and statistical production are conducted on behalf of the Riksbank. The databases are used to varying degrees for statistical production and deliveries within SCB, for example, for financial market statistics, balance of payments, and financial accounts. The data is also used for analysis, statistical production, as well as supervision and monitoring by the Riksbank and the Financial Supervisory Authority, and serves as an important basis for the European Central Bank (ECB).
Initially, you will participate in the ongoing production of statistics in KRITA and in the management and further development of the actor register. Since the team working with the actor register is newly formed, you will contribute to shaping and developing common working methods and routines. You will participate in and drive subject-related and IT-related development work, for example, through quality assurance of the statistics/register and through needs collection as well as requirements and testing in collaboration with IT. This includes ongoing work with data management, processing, and reviewing large datasets. You will have contacts with our reporting companies and users of the statistics. The work also includes some analysis work and monitoring of the area. The tasks offer good opportunities for professional development in both the subject area and data management.
Do you want to...
• process and review large datasets
• drive development work
• have contacts with users and other stakeholders
• shape and develop common working methods and routines
... then we believe this position could be very interesting for you!
QUALIFICATIONS
We require that you have:
• an academic degree in economics, business administration, statistics, or equivalent as assessed relevant by the employer
• at least two years of relevant work experience
• knowledge of databases as well as knowledge/experience in programming
• a good ability to express yourself verbally and in writing, both in Swedish and English
We consider it an advantage if you have:
• experience in statistical production
• experience working with large datasets (data management, analysis, and data visualization)
• knowledge of version control of code
• experience with agile methods and requirements specification for IT teams
• experience in the financial market area, preferably with a focus on banking and credit or accounting for financial companies
• experience in regulatory reporting within the financial market area
For this to be a good match for both you and us, it is important that you have a good ability to collaborate. You work well with others and want to be part of a team where you contribute to your colleagues' well-being and success in their work.
You need to have good analytical skills and be able to process and interpret data in a quality-conscious manner. You are expected to work independently and take responsibility for your own work.
You have good communication skills and can express yourself clearly, both verbally and in writing. You listen and are receptive to the other party. You have good social skills and thrive in a role with many points of contact.
You are self-assured, have good self-awareness, and demonstrate personal maturity in your demeanor. You adapt your behavior to the situation and have the ability to reprioritize when needs and conditions change. You are flexible and able to switch between tasks.
