School Economist & HR Administrator
We are now seeking a School Economist & HR Administrator for IES Ă–stersund! The position is a one-year temporary role starting after the New Year.
You will work independently and proactively with follow-up and reporting related to the school's finances. Together with colleagues in administration, you will continuously seek new ways to improve workflows, working methods, and processes.
About the Role
The role of the School Economist is delegated by the principal to ensure that the school's financial and budgetary work functions effectively in both the short and long term. The School Economist works closely with the principal, assistant principals, and administration with a focus on the students.
Your future responsibilities will include, among others:
- Being an active and contributing member of the school's management team
- Working proactively for a well-functioning financial model
- Compiling contracts for staff
- Assisting the principal in both ongoing budget work and planning for the upcoming fiscal year, as well as preparing the annual financial report
- Participating in decisions regarding purchases and budget follow-up
- Monthly reconciliations of school funding and communication with municipalities, as well as annual audits
- Monthly reporting and cost follow-up with comments
- Ongoing bookkeeping (e.g., invoicing, crediting, recording expenses, reconciling petty cash and corporate cards)
- Analyzing discrepancies
- Balance reconciliation
- Checking and coding supplier invoices in Rillion
- Participating in substitute coordination and staffing
- Compiling files with contracts and other documentation
- Managing migration applications
- Manually reconciling student records and following up on any discrepancies
- Managing, checking, approving, and following up on invoices
- Other verifications - reviewing the largest items and recording them for month-end
- Payroll - managing overtime, leave, illness, etc.
- Reporting SCB statistics and other statistical requests requiring reporting
- Participating in monthly online meetings for school economists within IES, monthly online HR meetings, management meetings, and weekly meetings
Qualifications to be successful in this role:
As a person, you are driven, curious, and structured.
You who are applying for the role have a post-secondary education in economics or have acquired equivalent skills through work experience. You communicate well in both Swedish and English, possess strong social skills, and enjoy having many points of contact. You are comfortable with Excel and Google Sheets.
Experience from the school sector is particularly meritorious.
