School Economist & HR Administrator
We are now seeking a School Economist & HR Administrator for IES Östersund!
You will work independently and proactively with follow-up and reporting related to the school's finances. Together with administrative colleagues, you will continuously seek new ways to improve flows, working methods, and processes.
About the Role
The School Economist's role is delegated by the principal to ensure that the school's financial and budgetary work functions efficiently both in the short and long term. The School Economist works closely with the principal, deputy principals, and administration with the student in focus.
Your Future Tasks Will Include:
- Being an active and contributing member of the school's management team
- Working proactively to develop a well-functioning economic model
- Compiling contracts for staff
- Assisting the principal in ongoing budget work, upcoming fiscal year, and annual financial closing report
- Participating in purchasing decisions and budget follow-up
- Monthly reconciliation of school funding and contact with municipalities, and annual review
- Monthly reporting and cost follow-up with comments
- Ongoing bookkeeping (e.g., invoicing, crediting, recording expenses, reconciling petty cash and company cards)
- Deviation analyses
- Balance reconciliation
- Checking and posting supplier invoices in Rillion
- Involvement in substitute coordination and staff appointments
- Compiling files with contracts and other documentation
- Handling migration applications
- Manual student verification and following up on potential discrepancies
- Managing, checking, approving, and following up on invoices
- Other verifications - reviewing major items and booking for month-end
- Payroll - managing overtime, leave, sick days, etc.
- Reporting to Statistics Sweden, and other statistical requests requiring reporting
- Participating in monthly online meetings for IES school economists, monthly online HR meetings, management meetings, and weekly meetings
Qualifications to be Successful in this Role:
As a person, you are driven, curious, and structured.
You have a post-secondary education in economics or have acquired equivalent competence through work. You communicate well, both in Swedish and English, have high social skills, and enjoy multiple contact points. You are comfortable with Excel and Google worksheets.
Experience in the school world is particularly meritorious.
