About this role
Welcome to a municipality with a positive team spirit and limitless future prospects! Eda is a municipality with approximately 1,000 employees, all of whom work in various ways to provide service to our citizens, colleagues, and visitors.
The municipal management staff is an operational area focused on support and service for our employees. Within the staff, we work with IT, Finance, HR, Payroll, Information, and Communication.
Our primary mission is to ensure that our employees have a safe and pleasant workplace where everyone can participate. Together with other departments in the municipality, we actively work on the development of our organization with the goal of being a workplace where everyone has the same conditions and opportunities.
Would you like to be our new colleague and help create a positive environment for our employees?
**JOB DESCRIPTION**
As an economist/controller, you play an important role in financial management at a strategic level within the municipality. The role involves working alongside the finance manager and other department members to coordinate and develop processes that ensure sound financial management for both our operations and our companies. You create conditions and opportunities for all operations to focus on their main tasks, develop, and achieve set goals while maintaining long-term financial balance. You report directly to the finance manager and are part of the finance department team.
Your work is both strategic and operational, with a key role in driving and developing the work forward. We offer you an independent and developing role where you will have the opportunity to work alongside engaged colleagues.
In your role as an economist/controller, you will work with financial and operational follow-up, primarily targeting the areas for which the municipality's Education Committee is responsible—such as preschools, after-school care, primary schools, and secondary and adult education.
You will provide support to the municipality's operations alongside other specialist functions.
As an economist/controller, you will work with environmental analysis, budgeting, performance and goal follow-up, financial closing, and forecasting. Targeted state grants are common, and you will play an important role in monitoring, follow-up, and reporting in collaboration with the operations.
You will also handle other common tasks within a finance department.
**QUALIFICATIONS**
We are looking for someone with a degree in economics at the university level or equivalent qualifications deemed comparable by the employer. Experience in qualified financial work, preferably in the public sector, and experience working with Visma Business Solutions is advantageous.
The job involves contacts with politicians, citizens, managers/employees, suppliers, and other municipalities, which requires collaboration skills and flexibility. Strong communication skills, both verbal and written, are valued personal attributes.
You are self-driven and proactive, with good IT skills. A valid driver's license (B) is a plus.
We will place great emphasis on your personal suitability.
**ADDITIONAL INFORMATION**
Our operations are based on the vision of being a positive border municipality where people meet, characterized by collaboration, a strong business community, and the ambition to develop. We actively work on gender equality and value diversity both as a municipality and as a workplace.
We offer cheerful teams, positive workplaces, and good employee benefits for you as an employee!
