The Department of Slavic and Baltic Languages, Finnish, Dutch, and German has over 60 employees and around 1000 students each term, organized into various divisions.
The administrative staff functions as a cohesive unit consisting of approximately 10 individuals, who provide operational support in areas such as study administration for each division, financial matters, personnel issues, and operational planning.
The department offers education in 9 languages. Research is also conducted in various fields within these languages, such as linguistics and literary studies. Our languages give us a strong international profile, and we are now seeking an economist to strengthen our administrative work.

**Job Responsibilities**
The role involves ongoing financial administration, including the management of domestic and foreign invoices, accounts payable and receivable, invoicing, accounting, payments, etc. Administration, follow-up, and reporting of internal and external projects in collaboration with the department's researchers and instructors are also significant aspects of the job. Alongside the department’s divisions and the administrative manager, you will also be involved in the institution's budget and year-end closing processes. Additionally, you are expected to assist researchers in preparing budgets related to grant applications.
Some personnel administration tasks are also included, such as registering hourly wages and evening allowances in the personnel system, reimbursements for foreign guest lecturers, SINK cases, calculations related to extending doctoral contracts, handling expenses and travel reimbursements, issuing employer certificates, among others.
Other administrative tasks may arise, such as various types of orders, booking travel for guest lecturers, providing advice and information to foreign teachers and doctoral students, inventory of facilities, consulting on procurement regulations, etc.
**Qualifications**
We are looking for candidates with a university degree in economics or equivalent experience who have a background in accounting, bookkeeping, and supplier invoices. Experience in finance and/or personnel work within the higher education and university sector or another government authority is advantageous. Knowledge of the financial system Raindance, the personnel system Primula, and experience with Qliksense are also merits, as are knowledge of regulations regarding government finance and accounting. Proficiency in Excel and the ability to communicate effectively in both Swedish and English, verbally and in writing, are essential.
It is important that you are meticulous, structured, and able to work independently. A strong ability to plan and efficiently carry out tasks within your area of responsibility is required, as the work can be stressful with peak periods.
There are many points of contact, and we expect you to be service-oriented, flexible, and enjoy collaborating with diverse individuals. The department is a language institution with staff from various countries, and an interest in the institution’s languages or languages in general is beneficial.
Personal suitability will be highly valued.
**About the Employment**
The position is full-time and is temporary for 6 months, with the possibility of extension. Stockholm University applies individual salary setting. Start date is December 15 or as agreed.
