About this role

We are now seeking a unit manager for shared leadership at the Specialist Dental Care at Östersund Hospital. Here, specialist dental care is provided for children, adolescents, and adults in the areas of oral and maxillofacial surgery, periodontology, prosthetics, orthodontics, dental physiology, endodontics, pediatric dentistry, dental radiology, and orofacial medicine. The Specialist Dental Care has approximately 40 employees and treats referred patients from the healthcare system as well as from the county's public dental care and private dentists. We offer a varied work environment, and to succeed in this role, a genuine interest in developing the operations and employees is essential. RESPONSIBILITIES You will work alongside your managerial colleague to plan and follow up on the operations in accordance with overarching assignments and goals together with the subject representatives. You are also responsible for the specialization training for dentists conducted at the clinic. Additionally, you will be responsible for recruiting our new colleagues. Your duties will also include collaborating with other stakeholders within and outside Region Jämtland Härjedalen. The unit manager is responsible for the clinic's results concerning operational, financial, personnel, and development matters. This includes continuously monitoring, analyzing, and acting based on needs. You are expected to work towards high quality and cost-effectiveness in the operations. As a unit manager, you are also the operational manager according to the Dental Care Act. QUALIFICATIONS You should have prior experience as a manager and leader. Education in dentistry is highly meritorious, or alternatively, you are educated in the healthcare sector. We are looking for someone who, through clear leadership, promotes an open, creative, and trusting work environment. You are familiar with politically governed operations and their conditions. ADDITIONAL INFORMATION You will be offered a permanent position in the region with a fixed-term appointment of 4 years as a unit manager. Start date is according to agreement. A probationary period may be applied. Selection and interviews may occur on an ongoing basis, which means that the position may be filled before the application period has ended. The public dental care in the county has fifteen general dental clinics, of which four are located in the Östersund area and the remaining in other parts of the county. In Östersund, there is also specialist dental care, which is part of the public dental care operations.
